Ya know, it's bad enough there's a ton of people driving around with LED/HID bulbs in housings designed for halogens (yes, I've ranted on this before...) but is it just me, or are all the new vehicle manufacturers trying to outdo one another and see just how ridiculously bright they can make their headlights? Jeebus it's getting hard to drive at night anywhere there's significant traffic.

On that same note, how is it that the new Ford Super Duty's can get away with having 6 front lights? Every bit of legislation I've read (and I've read a lot when researching into LED light bar usage) says that a max of 4 forward facing lights are allowed. Also Ford, if these truck are in fact "super duty" why is it that anything heavier than a loaf of bread in the back and the lights are pointing at the sky? Gawd forbid a guy puts a toolbox, welder or hooks up a trailer to these "heavy duty" trucks...

Today's rant. I'm old...there will be more.

Many new little SUV’s have six. There are always four on then people turn on their fogs. By the definition the fogs shouldn’t pass CSA import laws as you can’t turn off the other four.

Aftermarket ones drive me nuts too, and I would agree some oem are getting out of control, wifie has a tundra and gets flashed often, hers you can adjust aim inside truck so can turn them down a bit, I don’t get flashed in f350 oem led but then again I didn’t “level” the truck and not re-aim the lights. Rams guys have to be the worst fogs that will fry and egg, can’t imagine trying to drive a car nowadays for blindness.

Dead on Dave, Its getting ridiculous for sure. The fargo dudes driving around at all times with their driving lights on were bad enough (could cut them some slack cause they bought a dodge, nuff said) but the new Fords not only are hard to look at at night , they're just as annoying during the day.
PS, seems like theres a major effort to make the trucks as ugly as possible lately, best example , new GM and the Nissan Titan What the hell they thinking .

Seems to me that the Fords on low beam have 4 main lights, and 2 fog/driving lights....plus the gay LED halo/surround/lookatme.

I got a Titan Lenny. Haha. Personal preference....lol.

I drove through the shattiest
road conditions of my life for 2 out of the last 3 evenings, and I swore about on coming lights way too many times to count.

With an inch of ice on mine, plus a loaded trailer, mixed with 3 day long freezing rain storm, then add the glare from stupid bright or poorly aimed lights, we could not see shat!

I fully support the previous rant!

Lariat and down have have standard “quad beam halogen” no halo, terrible lights 4 candles might do more. Optional Lariat and up have the gay (ouch) halo w 2 leds low, 4 leds high, fogs are led too. Pretty decent low beam nice color but highs are weak.

Platinum has the halos..that’s how they identify the Platty. I run big bright lights, aimed properly and I dont get into a switch flicking fight with people that beam me. I just throw on the white Oakleys and keep on truck’in...
