Trashy cut back 1 beer a day and half a pack of smokes and buy yourself central air for your house. It costs like 2500 denero's.

I would never pay that much, and that will also make the difference on a new batch of Projuice :hi:

Long story short....... I pulled my air filter, made a jumper cable and went from R - G. And my fan is hard wired on, and continually recirc'ing the air in my house. Seeing how my furnace is from 1994

Trashie, obviously you don't have a "summer" switch or a "continuous" switch on the furnace, eh!

That trick will work for a couple days or until the basement also gets hot but by then maybe the heat wave will be over.

I just need this trick to work for the night, suppose to be back in the 20's tomorrow. I'll disconnect before I go to work tomorrow.

So thinking about my furnace issue's in this thread https://www.snowandmud.com/just-abo...ce-thermostat-74116.html?highlight=thermostat And reading about issues in this thread https://www.snowandmud.com/just-about-anything-goes-76/better-circulation-cool-c-air-81339.html

I have wired my fan to stay on all evening, and recirculate the cold air from the basement. With the stoopid hot air from the main floor, in the last 30 mins. I can feel my house getting cooler, being a Bungalow.

put a newspaper over your cold air returns upstairs that way you are not recirculating the warm air from upstairs

If you have atleast 3 wires at your t-stat you could get a new stat with fan(on/auto) control. R-W is heat ,R-G is fan. If you want a simple fix run a wire from R and G to a toggle switch and drill a hole in furnace cabinet.BTW i think BRP sells toggle switches, lol.

Fill your bathtub with cold water, put a fan in the doorway blowing the hot air onto the surface
of the water. You will notice very quickly the air leaving the bathroom will feel much cooler.
This method works even better with cold water running out of the shower head, but you waste
more water.
