Talk about the old days...first ride was a 19hp Alouette 1972 I think and then progressed to 74 Polaris 340 Electra. We thought we had the world by the tail then 40 horse 18" track and go anywhere. I have no idea how many miles myself and 3 brothers put on that thing but it did not sit still often. Bullet proof was the word....not so much with the Alouette...throttle stuck open and bro hit a granary on the farm and wiped it out.....never go hurt but the machine was beyond repair. Brings back a lot of memories.....no wonder we have sore backs now with those suspensions. Hauled a lot of water and hay for the cattle back in Sask with that machine when it was 40 below and they would not leave the barn......they were smart...as kids, we were not but it had to be done if we wanted to ride after.
It's amazing how far the snowmobile industry has come. Often wondered the reaction if you could travel back in time to the late 60's or so and drop a new pro rmk, xm, turbo, etc in front of them.
Begs the question in what will snowmobiles will be like in another 40-50 years. Even 5-10.
