LOL, in your world i'll bet the razr problems probably caused world hunger and the collapse of the oilfield right ??? Lives were ruined, families tore apart, huge corporation failures, global warming, , anything else you can blame on the wildly, still popular, still going strong razr ? Can't wait to see what you buy next and hear about that horrible crappy maverick , after you move on and own something else. LMAO.

I can't see how anyone could deny the recalls didn't hurt the polaris bottom line, they had to recall the xp900, xp1000, and the turbo. the Indians had recalls, as well as the Slingshot. their recalls resulted in their operating expenses going from 16% to 19% of the company bottom line in one year, and the majority of the 2016 Indian and Slingshot recalls have not been completed. they are projecting that it will effect the company well into the second and possibly third quarters of 2017.

Wow , you're wrong about both of those points also, but consistency is a good trait. At least it helps explain your constant bashing of a product , albeit problematic , that is so popular with so many people.

Sorry , these are just facts ... Popo did this to them selves , no one else .
My pointing this out ,has not cost them millions , and does not alter that fact .
In business, if you make poor decisions ... There are consequences!

No I actually have owned a boat load of popo products over the years and have stood behind them more than most ....
But as I have stated a bazillion times ... They have recently put profits above , quality and it has come back to bite them in the azz ...
Do I like to point that out .. Dam rights I do !
But if you read some of my earlier stuff , I was very critical of some canam stuff...
Those who ride and have had enough various machines will realize that quality levels & brands fluctuate all the time .

I see no problem in pointing out the ups and downs ...
Just like is happening in the 850 sled section ...
Why if there is serious issues with a machine , do you take such an issue with someone pointing that out ??
Obviously popo decided to make changes with victory , due to who knows what ..
But change is a fact of life in any business ! Do you not think your competition would not pick up on that ...? Seriously!
Lol

Having owned many Polaris products that is so true, has always frustrated me that Polaris has brought such great innovations to market yet they consistently execute poorly. Look no further than the slingshot seriously what a piece of crap, the plastic body has no better finish than a low end quad. What they have accomplished.... They made HD up thier game and HD has executed very well.

I have to agree. Owned many poo poo quads and 2 different Rzr models. 2016. In 2016 we went to purchase a new Rzr Hi Lifter or the Can Am Maverick xmr, basically same price. Did a lot of research and comparisons at the dealers. Fit, finish , general quality. Read the reviews. Purchased a Maverick xmr, what's next who knows a Wildcat X, X3 Maverick, another Rzr

Dropping the motorcycle line up amounts too a small portion of Polaris Industries as they came in at just under $5 billion in 2015 year if I recall.

Canadian Armed Forces took on a mrzr-d contract last year too. They are very happy with the units as they have more on order.

Military contracts have assisted them over the years,,, 2011 was a USA deal and 2015/16 for Canada.
Canadian Military Contracts Polaris Defense to Provide Turbo Diesel MRZRs and Trailers for Light Infantry Battalions | Polaris Industries

They will offer parts and support too the Victory line-up for 10 ish years according too the news out let.

Polaris ain't going away as they ramp up with other ideas in years too come.

Small set back in the under $5 billion in world globe sales for 2015 year.

It's no wonder they can help support the dealers in the Victory line up as they take on other ventures.

Thanks too boy we always have a Polaris on the farm for getting things done.

Lem

Dood, Polaris quality has been crap for years, not just since you bought your Maverik. However, you were willing to die on the sword for Polaris and there wasn't a person on here who could argue with you. Now, every other post is a Polaris jab. You can see the irony? Or how it might be a little annoying, particularly when it's not overly constructive most of the time? Nobody likes to have their machine run down or have all the issues they are struggling with continuously pointed out to them in vain.

How many popo's have you owned ... ? I have had an 08 09 10 12 15 model year ...
So I understand when the quality went south pretty much ... Coincidentally, about the same time as the recalls !!!!
So you
Might need to check your facts better ... !
The old 08 09 were never recalled or stop ride issued !
The new ones have been so , as a loyal Polaris owner YES I did notice the difference. Along with thousands of others .
Why do you think sales are down ...hello !
I love guys that have never owned one like you , but know all the issues ....

Fact is I still own a scrambler 1000 , as you know ! And it is a great bike , awesome performance , below average quality levels ! Way below my 10 sportsman . So no they have not always been junk as you claim ! But when you have huge market share and you can
Sell them quicker than you can build them, a company tends to cut corners and wants to capitalize on that demand ...
Feel free to not read my posts ,by all means ....btw

Haven't fact checked, but I wonder if the rzr recall frequency lines up with the start of them being manufactured in Mexico? Another company Trump may target?

My bad, I made a potentially inaccurate statement which easily allowed you to miss the point that I was trying to make.

No one product has ever rolled out flawless it's just the band wagon jumpers that stick around for years complaint about something that in most cases never owned but they know all about it because it happened to a friend or read it on the internet

It's more of a parts sourcing issue , cheaper bearings / axles / bushings / electrical etc etc ....from China
. That is the issue IMO . Just cheaper parts ....

All brands do it , my canam has chit parts from China ...too.
The "balance "is how cheap you go & to what quality level is adequate to save production costs and provide competitive product .

It's a fine line ... Cost vrs quality !
My original point is be it Polaris or any one else ... If you cut to much quality out....warranty costs & sales will suffer .
Is it so hard to wrap ones head around that ?
When that happens to popo or any one else and it backfires.... One has to cut costs some where to boost sales & regain market share .
That is most likely what Polaris chose to do .. As their bread & butter is in the SXS market ....
I really don't know why this is so offensive to some ...
It happens to everyone in business at one time or another...lol

Polaris started victory in 1997 to take on the v twin cruiser domestic market.
Then acquired Indian in 2011.
Both are v twin cruiser lines why would any manufacturer compete against it self.
GM , Chrysler , stop doing this, it was only a matter of time before Polaris drop one of their motorcycle lines.
If victory had sportbikes, dual purpose, off road, etc then I could see Polaris keeping both.
The guys I ride with that have Victory's really like them and have little problem with them.
For me as with any V twin cruiser they are just to slow and archaic for me.

I was gonna keep my mouth shut but I'm not the first member you've belittled and am far from the first member you're agitating with you're branding rhetoric. We all have our opinions and favourites for various reasons, but you are over the top.

I've enjoyed riding with you and Nancy, but when it comes to your attitude on S&M, you can be a complete imbecile. I've watched you call guys out like Pal Lem simply because of their grammar or the number of brand specific machines they may have owned.

You ask me how many Polaris products I've owned and brag of your 08,09,10,12,15 purchases. I don't know you all that well, but it sounds to me like you've got an expertise in buying machines, not maintaining them. Come back and tell us how much we all know when you've owned a machine for 10 years and put 10,000km+ on it. I'm willing to bet that's what most members want to know, as opposed to what rzrgade "thinks" is the best perforing machine for every application a person may envision.

To lend a little credibility to my Polaris quality statement, I also will add that I have not owned a Polaris but have been in care of two for several years. I've also had countless rides and camping trips cut short due to issues with brand new or next to new Polaris machines ranging from 2009 to 2014. ...long before your Mavirik purchase. Even then, I still considered trying a 2015 Scrambler before deciding to go for an Outty.

Do I (or anyone) need to own a Polaris ATV/UTV to have an opinion? Absolutely not!
