I STOLE THESE FROM ANOTHER SITE, WHAT DO YOU THINK? UNFORTUNATELY THEY DIDN'T DO THE AXYS 174" VS G4 165"

Axys 155

Dry weigt 408lbs

11.5 gallons fuel 71 lbs
2 gallons coolant 14 lbs
1 gallon oil. 7 lbs.

Total 500

Skidoo G4 154

Dw 434

9.5 gallons of fuel. 59 lbs
1.5 gallons coolant. 11 lbs
1 gallon oil. 7 lbs

511 lbs ready to ride.

**11 lbs difference. Wow. Not so much difference any more. **

Let's look at a 163x3 axys vs a 165x3 G4.

Axys dw 426
Add the 92 lbs of fluids
518 lbs

G4 dw. 441
Add 77 lbs of fluids.
518 lbs.

Need source information to be proved.

The axys 174 is 15lba lighter than the next leading brand 154, whether that is a summit, cat, Yamaha, I don't know.

the oil and coolant is wrong for the axys. 1 gallon of coolant and 3 liters of oil, gas is right.

Can you say twisting the stats? Could be leading sales brand or anything they want to say is leading and compare theirs to it

The difference in weight is so minimal now that it should not make a big difference in sales. Would i buy a polaris to save 15 pounds?..... not a chance, 40 pounds+ .... probably. I could benefit to losing 15lbs myself and yet i don't. I also run e start so a few pounds has never been a big deal. Hell half the time i dont drop my fuel caddy and i pack a big lunch.

My xm goes where i want when i want. Weight has never been an issue.

The original post is twisted from the start. 11.5 vs 9.5 gal in gas. Once you put on the extra jerry can to make up the difference, the skidoo is heavier. Saying the a skidoo is more fuel efficient is a joke. Mine has not gotten any better gas mileage than a Polaris.

I have so much fun on my skidoo that I have to pack extra water. Do I have to account for that in the weight comparison? On the other hand, if I only put 4 gallons of gas in then Im way lighter than that heavy old polaris!

In creston you could get away with 4gal less and still ride the day. I am amazed at how much less I burn when riding castlegar.

every wonder why you need the extra fuel and water.... Because your sled is heavier and you are working harder.

Wow - 15 pounds is not alot either way. Like others, I really couldn't give a flying f&#k about that as even with an extra fuel caddy (which I have never used but consistently give to the cat rider in our group) and a gear pack and avy pack it really seems a bit of joke. When I really get stuck there seems like there is 200 pounds of snow in that track. Take a good dump before hitting the trail and you won't notice the dif.

It's just a quick comparison. None of the weights are 100% perfect.

On another note.

2017 skidoos dry weights
154. 434 lbs
165. 441 lbs
So would that make a 174 weigh 448-450 lbs?

2017 axys 174. 442 lbs. dry

That would put the dry weight of the new Doo only 8 lbs heavier in that configuration. Not bad. Sounds like skidoo did pretty good in the weight department. Everybody can whine and cry about fuel tank size all day but from my experience I couldn't get more than 9 gallons in my Xm tank anyway.
