I have a 2005 Polaris 800 Sportsman. It has EFI, and is twin cylinder, 4-stroke.
There are 2 facts that seem related:
1.) It fouls out a spark plug, about once a year, so I wind up replacing both plugs. This is a bit hard to do, As they are burried under the gas tank, and so it winds up taking about 2 hrs to do it. My other cars, run over 100 k miles without new plugs.
2.) Fuel economy on this EFI model is real bad.
Now, could there be a relationship between these?
Dumping fuel into it, and fouling plugs?
Any comments would be appreciated.
I get about 12 MPG on this 4-wheeler.
My old Polaris (Carburated) used to get 25 MPG.
Thanks,
Nate
