I would say clutching and a more direct drive line, should account for that.......in fact quite easilly. That is why a 88HP 900 is right on a101 HP mav`s azz i would suggest.............
As well as the posted 0 to 30/50 times 1000XP vrs Mav..........

Again...I call BS. And I know you know better. I've had machines on chassis dynos and I know how easily they are manipulated. I can easily clutch more "RWHP" into an interia dyno, but in the real world it won't be faster. The 88 hp 900 is on the 101 hp Mav's azz because the power to weight is nearly the same.

Arff...no SxS for me man...I'm not that bored with riding yet. Sure like watchin the keyboard wars tho....

If people can say for certain that the RZR1000 does this that and the other....then I can say anything I want about any other SxS.....because the comparison is the same...theories only. No keyboard for you.

After riding with both commanders and rzrs, the rzrs just kick ass. I'm not as knowledgable with the UTVs as many others, its just my opinion. I did witness a 1000 comander that was over heating all day long, as well as going through about 5 diffs.it was my buddies machine, he has sold it and went and bought a rzr. Can Am does build some nice machines though! PoPo and Can Am are the ones pushing the envelope and thats a good thing!

I was in that group with the lemon maverick.

The owner is ready for a stick o dynamite.

Having said that I know rzr owners the same.

Biggest thing is po po == brain washed and given poolaid

Can ham == no brain washed with poolaid

Polaris vs Can am wars... These will be our first off road vehicles (besides our road princess duramax.) We are planning on buying a maverick now only because it comes with p/s and the qe diff which hoenstly a machine this big... yea i agree you better have a good diff to pull you around and even though visco lock is not a true 100% locker... U better buy the best one they offer or you will be kicken yourself in the nuts later on. Yea not going to lie i will probably set the rebound once and forget it and it will probably be set totally wrong for the conditions i am using it for but good to have a option like 2.5 shock bodies for better dampening. I am also buying a XTP 1000 outlander at the sametime because of the better shocks. I drove the can am maverick and loved it except it was alot of work on the arms in tight trails but i am sure the p/s solves that issue.
The polaris, I have been told to stay away from cause they are cheep, sat in the xp 900 and yea it felt cheep and the pedal position felt off. I am just wondering if people are happy with there polaris or wished they bought a different machine (xp 900 being the closest thing). I am sure both machines in stock form will be good enough, but if i can buy a better machine for the same $$$ (alot of $$$ at that) might as well.
Thanks for the help so far and Yea I feel like the can am is a good machine, i just like to have a options.

Sorry, A key element to me buying these sxs is reliability by far number 1 on my list. I can fix them but i dont have the time to fix them and I am sure everyone around here doesnt have the time to fix them as well. Down time is off the trail time/no fun time if you ask me and if your spending 23 grand it better be able to take some abuse. As for can am commander blowing 5 diffs... 1 or 2 i can understand but after a point makes you wonder what the driver is doing wrong to make it happen or maybe it wasent set properly Makes no sense if you ask me. I am sure majority of people with commanders arent blowing 1 diff let alone 5. AS for over heating, Mud riding / riding style might have something to do with that to. 23 grand is alot of money to have something that breaks down all the time why pay for that? I have heard wheel bearing problems and axle problems with polaris sxs but i dont know if thats true or just bs.

I will tell you about my buddies 1000 maverick, he was in an accident, it was fixedd by insurance and after that it went through 5 diffs, he figured the frame was bent. When we were riding we did very little mud that day and it was over heating all day long, it had done this before too. This was the big dollar maverick 1000 Xxc he bought it new after paying 20k or so brand new he was choked that he had so many problems. He also said the diffs were the same exact diffs that were in his 800 outlander and part of the problem with the durability. I'm not the only one to mention the over heating issue here. If you're concerned with durability, you might want to do some more research!
