Ha. Ok. I’ve never been to clairsholm. I will say that right now. But this is absolutely bs. So your a owner of a business. You sit down with your accountant and say hey, I’m losing revenue because I don’t have the staff and people are walking out. I’m losing profit. If your not aware or in the know of how hiring immigration works I can fill you in. I work for several clients that use immigrant workers. If you truly are losing profit............which your not .............business plan. A country restaurant, non-franchise restaurant has next to nothing for overhead. The have there lease or rent and then there food. That’s all. Nothing else. No service trucks no fuel costs, nothing. Nadda. Zilch. On top of this they get paid right then and there. They don’t way 90 + days to get paid. Haha. There’s no interest. This is a loop hole in our corrupt government system.
Sorry but seems you have zero experience in the food service industry - margins are pathetic. Probably the worst of all of the hospitality sectors ....
In the meantime a decent salary is required to help retain and motivate staff ...

Sorry. Have plenty of experience in the food industry. Most get into it thinking it’s the easy road. Only the ones that work there ass off survive. Facts are facts.

“Whether it’s health care, food and dining, truck driving, construction [or] customer service, there is a challenge in this community to fill the jobs,” said Brady Schnell, the Town of Claresholm’s economic development officer.

This wasn’t just the food and dining that most are taking about .
Think the story is bull crap anyway.

Yeah I would agree with this. The shady things some companies are starting to do for profit is ridiculous. I get it's tough for businesses to pay more for local people but what do we gain with TFW's? If that local person sits on EI we pay them a wage anyway, we then pay for the programs that bring over the immigrants, the TFW's save most of the money earned and bring it back home when they leave, pulling more money out of the Canadian economy. How is that better?

The other frustrating thing is outsourcing of work, there are thousands of Albertan construction workers out of work, yet there are Alberta based shops outsourcing local work to South Korea. The worse part is the same business got caught a few years ago for laying off local workers and hiring TFW's to replace for a lower wage.

You lose a bunch of money because you didn’t have employees? Tell me something, at 6 whole posts here on snow and mud I can already tell your a regular, so how many employees have you outsourced from another country? Maybe your a chef at a top scale food chain of restaurants. Maybe.........your a troll. Either way CTD your an investor in every company that partakes in the government funded immigration work program. This is your tax dollars helping Roy make more money. Wake up.

If anyone is offended by my comments on restaurants, weather it’s franchise or non-franchise I’m sorry. This guy is talking about losing a day in his diner. How about the guys with $700,000 of heavy equipment sitting in there yard and nothing on the horizon, 80 or more employees and family’s. Alberta is in a recession. The media is ****ed up to post a story like this right now. Multi-national company’s pulling the pin on Alberta because we aren’t open for business and the news is covering Roy’s diner in claresholm. Cause he has lost some profit due to employee shortages. Do we need the Roy’s in our community’s? Absolutely. Is the community moving because Roy had to close down for the day? Absolutely not. They will be back tomorrow. That’s for certain.
