Trans Canada Pipelines and a sub-contractor have placed very large rocks and trees throughout the pipeline from Corbin to the Notch. Some of the rocks in the creek crossings are 3'-4 ' in diameter; they are huge. Obviously they do not want traffic on the pipeline. Apparently, the creek crossings will be dangerous even in the winter with lots of snow.

The Fernie Snowmobile Association is working on the problem but doors aren't opening and answers aren't forth coming.

Any S&M guru's know anything that would help us out? Some contacts to get some answers? Personal info can be forwarded via PM and it will be appreciated and secretive or as secretive as one can get in this age of the internet.

Funny thats not what thier web site states! Sounds like they are endangering the public!!! Found this on thier site..took a minute to find.

Public Safety and Awareness

how else would you get up those trails...ofcourse I do..there and revy...you should be asking that of the corbin guys..many do not

I applaud you and we're working on the Corbin access but it is difficult. We don't groom the pipeline so we don't charge. The Martin Creek access is being considered for grooming from the Coal Creek side. If we do groom Martin Creek this winter we will charge.

All of the riders that use the pipeline and eventually the cabin would put a nice sum into our coffers but how to collect? The easiest is a $75 on-line membership which is totally on the honour system.

We are talking to important people and emphasizing the liability issue for TCPL of placing something man made without warnings and/or markers. There is a drastic change on the surface from last year and that needs to be addressed. The liability issue is of equal or more importance than the small amount of environmental damage that has been occurring.

We are working on it and I'll keep you posted.
