nothing gay about a raptor. you ever checked the spec sheet on one? if they could actually haul something besides ass they would be a friggen awesome truck.
i dont see what is gay about a 400+ hp, fox suspended 4x4 that is all factory built.
only reason most of them are in ft mac is because nobody else can swallow the 70g price tag.

Ford hyped it, and lots of people swallowed it. Friggen' awesome? You're kidding right?

My dodge 1/2 ton has 400 HP, hauls more than the Raptor, and cost less than 1/2 the price. The Raptor is a basic 1/2 ton with better shocks and a fancy trim package, just like all other premadonna truck packages. Pretty silly to have to justify your uber-expensive shocks by driving on a motocross track to see how good they are......racing in Baja, yes. Racing around the city, no.

cmon a stock dodge out pulling a ford? maybe the raptor but a normal dodge 1/2er to a ford 1/2er never happen imo. dodge claims big hp on the hemi but zero torque in comparison, yes they claim i think its 80 more hp than the 5.4 but they only have 10 more ft/lbs of torque.
justsayin. lol it would be good to do a side by side comparison of the big four all pulling the same load on the same surface by drivers who want their unit to win. just to see the real outcome. :d i would bet all four , chev ford dodge and yota would be really close.

The Raptors have a wider stance as well, my boss has a 2010 ( still has the 5.4 chipped engine in it) One of our customers has the 2011 and it has the 6.2 in it, so far he says its pretty hard on gas, that may change once it breaks in though, hard to say.

HP is only a calculated #, Hemi makes 407 ft/lbs of torque, I think the Raptor makes around 420. Not trying to turn this into a "my truck is better than your truck thread", all have their good points, all have their drawbacks.

But to me the Raptor is like the SVT 1500. Good for folk who want something different than the rest and willing to pay the price tag, and maybe a "race inspired" theme truck is a cool idea, but pretty much pointless for day to day reality if you want a real truck. I'm not judging peeps, hell if they want to spend that kind of $$ on a truck, have at it, but my point is that the Raptor/SVT/Chev equivalent, is not that much better than your average 1/2 ton, at least not double the price (IMO).

Its a complete suspension package not just sweet shocks. Watch the video on "TopGear" Tanner Foust takes it wide open in the desert and its just eats it up. In the patch up here that is the same way some guys drive and wear out a truck every year. Any normal 1/2 ton cant take it, they fall apart, so everyone drives 1 ton single wheels which are so over kill for a couple wrenches and a laptop.

So back to cheesy ch!t which a raptor isnt. Its a purpose built production pre-runner.

My opinion of the Raptor for a work truck, mud will eat the Raptor up just like the other trucks.
