Just a few pics of the 16" cut down to 15 1/4". Cut 5 of them now, very happy how clean a cut it is.

Don't forget to turn the clips if it's going on a DD, otherwise u may cause damage

Probably a more cost effective way to do it this way?

what are u using to make the cut? my old 53 needs to be hacked in half so I can use it for traction in my trailer, are they not producing the 15 wide 3inch yet or is this better?

Curtis with Tracks Canada was using a table saw. All he said was the blade was expensive.....oh and he also said the blade blew up in his sons face while cutting one down.

They are not making a 15" wide in a 174" yet. The blade is expensive.

You need a blade with lots of teeth and carbide. Can't remember the tooth count but they are very close together.

I wrecked a track last year trying to cut it down.I was very happy to hear they are making a 15 wide but sure wish they did this with the 174.
On the weekend I dropped another track off with Curtis, his cuts are straight.

Exact reason why I got Curtis to do it. He does a real nice job. I wouldn't be able to throw a brand new track on the saw

If you are only planning on cutting one ,there is no way it is worth the risk of learning all the little things that makes cutting a track go smooth. I have never wrecked one but I have learnt enough that I wouldn't recommend cutting your own. Get somebody that has cut a few. I watched a lot of YouTube videos of guys cutting there tracks that have missed a very critical part in making this process go smooth.

Every one has to start some where, and everyone has to cut a FIRST track, I think turning the track inside out might be the difficult part.
After this setting up the saw right and cutting slow, taking your time and it will be smooth and straight.

Niner cut my track and I am sure he cut a whole bunch more off than needed, I think I have a 13 wide just so he gets an advantage on the hill! Seriously he did a great job and it is not an easy process. I am on my 3rd season and counting. 3" tracks are worth all the extra work to make them fit on the cats but you have to review the extra expense on the poo and doo with the drop and roll.

I had a guy who wanted a 3"x174" on his phaser so I gave him what I cut off your track!
