My biggest pet peeve is douchebags who leave their garbage wherever it falls. It doesn't matter if it's in the bush, or on the streets, TAKE YOUR SH!T WITH YOU!! Another pet peeve is somebody who blows their nose and just has to look in the kleenex. F$#king yuck!

As a Respiratory Therapist, I can tell you that looking at your snot is kind of important! Color, consistency, amount, frequency, and even smell can go a long way in diagnosing an illness as well as predicting how long those secretions have been retained, bacteria that might be growing in them, what phase the infection is in terms of recuperation etc., Sounds disgusting, but its a big, big clue!! If you are coughing, sometimes its good to see what you are coughing up too.... HOW IS THAT FOR GROSS, Todd???

clear/thin
= mucoid= normal
yellow/clearish[/COLOR]= onset of infection; usually upper respiratory tract
yellow/creamy/thick= infection is 2-3 days old, body has begun to fight with white cells and t-lymphocytes
green/creamy/thick= these secretions have been retained for a week or so. You usually see this type of drainage as a sinus/chest infection starts to end and the crap starts coming out in buckets
green or yellow & smelly= usually an anaerobic or very nasty viral infection; often seen in bad pneumonias; when accompanied by chills or fever, get thee to a doctor:d
reddish/clear with smell= Klebsiella or Legionnaire's disease
Extremely thick/white= often seen in bad cases of asthma exacerbations or in those with night sweats and frequent cough an history of exposure, can be a sign of TB

There: Snot lesson on a Saturday morning... You're Welcome :d

Tell ya what, I'll blow a snotrod into a kleenex, and you can take a look, tell me if I should see a doctor. :d One thing's for sure, I am now on week 10 of non smoking, and there is still some pretty wild sh!t coming up when I hack and cough. Maybe I should save them for analysis too.
