Bogger
Bogger of the GBCA
As the title says, Brother blew out his 800HO, lower portion of the piston disinagrated and is somewhere in the bottom end... a drop in would be ideal.
Thanks
Ian

my bud's had the pto connecting rod break. totally destroyed the engine, the only thing that may be reusable is the mag side jug, head, and primary clutch lol. got a new shortblock, went to swap out parts to the new and discovered con rod went up into the reed cage as well. crazy part was he was just crawling along a rough stretch where the farmer plowed a trail to some bales, he was doing maybe 10 km/hr and said it went bang and quit. bang is somewhat of an understatement. new drop in without core was almost 3Kto re-use his bottom end he needs a gasket plate and to break it open and clean out all the scrap. jugs are good, boots are brand new, reeds are new. everything is good except one piston and that base plate, it's just the amount of time and inexperience to crack open the case clean and re-assemble.
Troy he may end up parting it out and if he does I'll let you know. got some nice goodies on it he could recoup most of it's value by parting.
Worth more running, how's the head?

the piece that the jugs bolt on is the crankcase....there is no fixing that, no real point in taking it apart and cleaning it out. with a bunch of chunks in there and riding it home I would suspect the bottom end bearings are all toast as well. she's a paperweight nowhead is good, but the top portion of the bottom (where the jugs bolt on) is hooped, the aluminum skirting is all broken off. The way he described it to me I thought it was a plate but when I looked at it it's the whole piece that the jugs bolt on to. probably a write off. This sled is worth more to part out then sell not running
new boss seat, jugs are good with new boots, lightweight clear hood, clutches just re-done, cdi is good, pipes are all good, can in good shape, suspension and arms etc etc etc...
but the bottom end needs to be opened and cleaned (there is a lot of aluminum in there, it has to be somewhere) It ran home on one cylinder and would run until we tore into it, now it's in pieces in my garage.
At first we thought we lucked out and it was just the rings until we pulled the piston and the whole bottom was gone....
Have complete engine just need gasket kit and put top together
