Wondering if anybody has any experience with a good quality paint that will adhere well to the pro side panels? Looking to paint mine black but want to have a nice finish otherwise its not worth doing. Any experience and/or advice is appreciated!

For the hassle just buy a new set of take off. I have a brand new set of Red with all clips, vent and decals for $400

Not sure what your budget is, or what look you are going for. Paint always flakes and scratches up so bad. I would assume plasti-dip would do the same, pure black wrap would be tough to find, you might find a set of black take off panels, if your lucky. Another option would be hydro dip. Not sure about price but I heard it is a lot more durable. Just a thought.

I used 3M wrap on the grill of my truck, its not super tough it does get rock chips in it, but it does look really sharp, problem is the material can be quite expensive depending on where you get it from it may be cheaper just to buy new panels. 3M

Thanks for all the info guys! Some options there I hadn't even thought of! That's why this forum is so great. I ended up picking up two cans of krylon gloss black paint and sprayed them. I prepped them by washing with hot soapy water and then roughed them up with a scotchbrite pad. Lightly sprayed on an adhesive promoter, and then sprayed five coats of paint per panel, allowing 5-7mins to dry between coats. I am happy with the finish but of course the test will be once I get a couple of rides in. Only four months till the first trip! Here is how they turned out,

I painted my 2011 panels. They were the Grey Snowcheck panels which was painted to begin with. They looked good for a while but with anything in auto body prep work is the most important step to a long lasting paint job. Mine started to flake at the edges and need to be redone. It would seem I spent more time drinking beer then sanding the edges. A flex agent in the paint would help as well.
