Ahh ok. I had another look, and was able to slide it in a little further under, and it is working better now :) Jack just about hits on the belly pan though.

My Canadian Tire lift has been working flawlessly for the last 5 years and takes up a lot less space.

How high does that lift?

Nothing worse than wrenching on a sled on your knees..

Not as high as the pa lift, it gets the skis about five or six inches of the ground ,I replaced my spindles sitting on my stool and it's a good height for working under the hood.great for airing up shocks, alignments and saving room. The big one is nice but to big for me.

It's not any bigger, if it's under the sled

Mine will be elevated pretty much all the time, so I can maneuver it easier.

Wish I had the room but I keep the sled in a shed and not in the garage so that wouldn't work for me, did the sliders today on my lift, worked fine , did it the hard way through the holes on the track. image.jpg

So finally got to try out this new lift. Sure probably not a super duper professional model you'd find in a sled shop, but i thought it worked pretty good. Wrenching is a lot easier and it beats crawling around on my hands and knees.
From other posted ideas, I also added a wider bar on the front to make it more stable. Not that you have to, but it's a simple free addition to make it better.
And since our running boards have giant holes, it's tough to get that to work. I grooved a block of wood that sit's nicely on the lift bar, and keeps tha back end from moving around.
I've spent my money on way worse thing than this.

I have a version of this lift that came from Royal Distributing. I could feel the threads starting to pile up after a couple lifts. I took the screw apart and put some better grease on the threads and It's been fine ever since.

Was not happy with the PA Sled Dolly I bought last weekend. Aside from looking a bit weak to lift a sled off the ground, I found the frame that is connected to the wheels was at the wrong angle to be able to lift the front of the sled off the ground and then hook up to the bumper. After a few more beers and trying to figure out how it works, I changed positions, upside down, lift handle positions, etc. Could not make it work. Seemed like the lifting paddles did not come up high enough. I took it back and showed a couple guys some pics of what I tried to do make it work. He told me they have been selling them for about 5 years with no issues. What did I miss?

do you know about the reverse method? warm up sled. tap one slide out a couple inches and give the throttle a crack in reverse and it peels the slide off like a banana peel.

Just finished modifying mine today. Don't even have it painted yet...maybe next year! Works much better now. ;)

Best money I have spent. Sure nice to work on the sled while sitting on a stool. No problems with the jack. i bought a couple of the rubber wheel chocks they sell to put under the back so the sled sits level.
