I’m not sure that is true, think most wells like ours hit a coal stream they told us, they never mentioned any wells ever going dry, just some can’t keep up that are under 5 gallons a minute.

Depends on where you are, how deep and type of soil/rock below I would guess. My well is 0.5 gpm during the heaviest rain times or during the driest drought.

They could only pump at something like 90 gpm, they pumped it for an hour, and they couldn't get it down. In a dry area I bet it is tough to get a good well. Right beside a big lake it isn't. I am currently on a well at this house to. A different lake this time, but same idea, endless water supply. I have had four homes on wells over the years, and all have been excellent wells. I was last on a public water or sewer system about 30 years ago.
