Over reving on the 850T

Not enough info, what’s the kit and it’s components, clicker position, Adding weight is not necessarily the best solution.

If you are on clicker #1… yes.

I’m still over revving with my Turbo Tamers as per their instructions on clicker #1. Going to add more tip weight and see what it’s like. Definite improvement over stock but still need to get a kit.

I never said that. I’m most likely riding lower elevation at 5500ft. They’ve probably got their instructions set to ride Revy which would be more like 7000ft or even better. It’s as simple as adding more weight which is supplied and easy to do.

Anyone who understands clutching even a little will know the Turbo Tamers are a band-aid for the over revving problem on the TDoo. It won’t change engagement or backshift. Maybe engagement slightly, but in the wrong way.

Maybe try gearing up. When i cant pull rpm, i gear down. So if i was over reving, i might try loading the engine with taller gears.

Don’t panic just keep adding weight and see what happens. We added 10 grams to the 2021. i believe the new stockers are still under weighted. We have a new one to pickup today and we will see. The nice thing is you can always go back….good luck and safe sledding. The turbo tamers look like a nice system and they came out for a reason….the skidoo turbo needs more weight.

Not necessarily. I deal with ALOT of new machines every season and less than 1/4 need more weight. But certainly some do! knock on wood i get 2 new ones every season and none of mine since 2020.5 have ever needed more weight 8000rpm all day long. I have had 2 friends that both needed more weight on a 2021 and a 2022. They picked up the turbo tamers and problem solved.

If you have an over revving 850T throwing BRP weight at the sled does not seem to be a solution and will effect your bottom end. Turbo tamers seem to be the simplest most cost effective fix and you don't need any special tools to install.

BRPs solution is to keep adding weight, i wouldn't recommend it.

I believe there is a clutch kit with gearing. Can't recall the manufacturer though.

Id skip the kit and just get the gear.

Should fit with stock chain, and cost less than 100$.

Probably can find a used gear for 20$

Turbo Tamers are just fine. I just know that Joey and Big John have great clutch kits that resolve over revving and lower engagement, help backshift and increase track speed.
