one way clutch

hey guys on a 05 grizzly 660 can the one way clutch behind the pimary be taken apart and cleaned. there is oil cooked on it from motor being ran dry of oil and it is engaging right away any help would be great thanks.

If you are going as far into it just to clean,.. you might as well replace it along with checking the wet clutch for wear and tear.

it is $1500 to replace it so if i can clean it and save it money still in my pocket.

Who the hell are you getting a quote from,.. holy crap

$240 for the wet clutch and $65 for the bearing,.. please tell me where you got the quote, cause this OUTRAGEOUS!

If you are looking to clean coked oil....(carbon deposits) off of metal parts use a product called SEAFOAM.....you can put it in the oil or fuel but in your case just use a parts cleaner brush and brush it on......works great for cleaning carbon out of exhaust sparkarestors on chain saws and exvalves......just my 2 cents......what a difference in your quote by the way! hope someone isnt trying to screw you!

sorry i messed up a used one is 250 to 300 and i was callin it the wrong thing it is the wet clutch and now after looking at quad again i think the primary was put together wrong and the belt was way to tight when we took primary off there was two washers and in the manual it only shows one does any body know how tight your belt is meant to be and for a stock 660 primary is there any belt shims ie washers because when we took the primary off there was two one fat one and one skinny one itr doesn't say in the book we know one goes with the bolt but where does the other one go. HELP

The fat one should go under the nut, and the thin one was probably added after the fact to drop the belt some for low end gain, as it doesn't come OEM. Make sure when you put the INNER sheave back on that it fits over the INNER splines on the output shaft.
