You seem to know exactly what you want... It's listed in your last sentence. So go post a WANTED ad... And make sure it says in clear print that you're not interested till spring. I'm sure you'll get a ton of hits! Oh yeah, and it'll keep away chitshow threads like this. There's no point in asking people "What's a good sled for me?" or something along those lines when you have a sled set in your mind. Just go with it. End of story.

hey guys! looking at getting a mountain sled (ONLY YAMAHA!) do not tell me about arctic cat , skidoo or polaris!!!! arctic cat are to expensive for me! i will have $3,000 to spend , looking for mm or viper or venom what will $3,000 get me?

Get a late 97-2001 mountain max. I own 2 right now, had then since almost new. SkiDoo Summit 670 are OK unless you roll them over, you have to wait an eternity before it will start again. even my buddies who upgraded from the summits to rev dis the 670's now. Yamaha out of the crate pulled hard and were pretty much mx free. My wife sled has never had a break down, my is a real alaska mountain sled, been used hard from all the hard landings and drops.

You can get a real nice 2000ish viper for under 3K, install risers and triple pipes and you will love it.

yah i know the yammis are reliable , i just sold a 86 phazer for $1,200 never touched the engine and i put almost 10,000kms on the original motor!! show me a cat , doo or polaris the is that reliable and that will do 90mph!!

if your not buying till spring then wait till spring... anything thats for sale now is most likely gonna be gone by spring... but i guess not many people really want those sleds anymore so you might be lucky.

I've got a 2001 MM700 w/ approx. 6000 km's on it. SLP pipes, extrovert drivers, reed spacers, vari-flow. It has been a good reliable sled and hasn't left me on the hill yet unlike my XP. I had it listed here last year for sale but no offers. Still have it sitting in the garage....Hehehe it was faster than Rusty's M8.

That would mean he would have to crank up the Dodge again and drive half way back home. That ain't gonna happen anytime soon, I don't think:d:d:d

i dont think those kind of sleds would survive in the mountains , LOL.

I have personally rode a 79' 250 single cylinder elan up in the mountains and the thing performed well. So I think those kind of sleds would survive in the mountains.
