They said there is a special weather statement for Prince George south to the US border this next week. High's could reach 44 degree celsius for the interior. Keep that beer on ice!

on a second thought maybe I should stay away from the office the whole week!!! 44 is HOT! Good thing we had so much rain and the forest are not dry yet otherwise lookout. Been thru a few summers where it was smokey for weeks and not fun.

Hard to believe we can go from 16 and monsoon conditions to a heat wave and fire bans.

I could smell wood smoke last night here (Vernon) on the lake. Probably campfires but in this area it puts people on edge.

yes it sure is hot!!! temp at my house at 7 PM yesterday was 38 in the shade. Went to the shuswap both Sunday and Monday and lake water is much warmer than Kal Lake. Avg water temp was 75 F on my boat gauge which matched up with my friends as well. Kal Lake a week ago was 71 F.

Going to Sicamous felt like someone had a blow torch in our faces!

Lots of logs floating around so be careful!

Yes i'm in Killiney near Fintry on westside rd and my thermometer yesterday hit 40deg by mid afternoon in the shade. The weatherman said 33deg yesterday for Vernon/Kelowna but not at my house. I did go down by the lake and it was 33 there.
Today i don't know how hot it got was working, but it was still very hot. Right now at 7:50pm its 27deg on my thermometer.

my wife and I went for a Saturday drive Armstrong - Peachland and came back via Westside road. So, we went by your place. Funny how some people decide to drive their RV's on that road and almost get so nervous in the narrow spots they are crawling. Nice drive in the summer!

just spent my first weekend at my new summer house in OK valley, ( Parker Cove). Had the boat in lake Okanagan on fri, sat, sun and mon. Lake Temp started at 70 degrees and by Monday was 75. Great first weekend, Lake was pretty rough with lots of boats out. did the fireworks in Vernon by Boat on Mon evening. I think I'm going to like it there............ head back next week for 10 days.. can't wait.

Yes the summer is the worst on that road, you cannot be in a hurry. I've seen a few vehicles off the road down into the lake.
Winters are actualy not to bad, little traffic helps, again you cannot be in a hurry.
They're also doing alot of road construction.
Yes you would had driven by my house, except i'm not on westside road but a side road off westside road at Killiney. It is a nice drive, i doit every day and enjoy it.

Parker Cove, small world, thats like 5-10min from my house...haha, on the reserve, that north end of the lake is very nice compared to the rest of the lake imo.

Parker Cove is about 1/2 from from my house. We have several friends that have cabins along the lake on reserve property. We usually boat on OK lake 4-5 times a year. Yes OK lake is choppy IMO. We spend a lot of time on the Shuswap and find it less choppy. Enjoy your new summer house!!!! If you are into fishing some nice small lakes to the west of you too!

Lund, we were on OK lake yesterday and managed to weather the nice 3 ft waves out in front of your place :) We spent some time watching the forest fire across the lake from you and had a front row seat watching the helicopter / water bombers do their job. Good thing they got that fire out as it could have been disastrous!

I was busy working outside and i heard a helicopter flying around, never realy payed attention to it till after a while it just came around again and again. I realy couldn't see it but definitely could hear it close by. Told the wife something is up, either a copper chopper looking for growups, search and rescue is out or there's a fire.
It makes me nervous when i hear a chopper flying around at this time of year in my area, we've had a couple of good fires over the last few years and had to evac.
Glad they got that under control quickly.

Its going to be very warm this weekend, i'm planning on being on the lake for atleast one day. haha
