My low oil light will not go off on my 11 m8. Its got a full tank of oil and a full (1st) tank of fuel mixed 100 to one and still the light will not go off. It wasn't on when I picked it up but when I got home and drove it into my shed it came on. I topped everything up and went for a quick burn today and still on:confused:

Its likely the sensor for low oil tank level. Not sure if the 2011 is the same as 08 (basically a float that activates a switch mounted on top of tank) but my sensor failed, had same situation on mine. I just unplugged mine and light went off. Swapped switch with my buddies sled, his light went on and mine stayed off. It takes 30 seconds to swap sensors if you know someone with same setup. If your handy with a ohm meter you can test it. If my memory serves me correct, if you put the meter to read ohms you should get zero across the leads. If its failed you will get a reading across the 2 leads on the sensor.

Should be warrenty. I left mine unplugged until I get a new sensor. A little un-nerving driving with the light on.
