Where do we find info on the suggested closures etc?
This last round of meetings are about the species at risk proposed closuers happening all around BC also there is a back country ski operator wanting tenure( a lot like a lease in the Paradise Holygrail area)I don't have the link handy but google bc ministry of enviroment wild life closuers and you can see the map. Here in Blue River we have made lots of progress and have had meeting with MOE since the May 30th meeting. All our riding areas we negotiated in 2008 will stay and we should have an agreement(SMA) signed by the end of July. We are also working with the ski company to establish a memorandum of understanding for shared use of the proposed tenure area, hope this will enable all users to enjoy there chosen sport. The future holds a lot more work for our club once the SMA's are in place we need to begin the application process with the ministry of (no) tourism for management agreements in these areas( they are a lot like a tenure but are designed for non profit back country use). So you all can see that the work involved to keep sledding open in BC is never ending and a huge task that local clubs have to consistantly deal with. With this in mind please try and support the local clubs in paying the grooming fees buying memberships in the areas you ride it really helps. your $15.00 trail pass has to support more than just grooming.

Hey Lex...Does the local club see any of the $15.00 that we pay for trail passes in Blue? I believe that the groomer/operator out of Blue is a privately owned venture and is not affiliated financially with the club?

All the money goes to the club then we pay out the grooming bill and wages for the booth girls.
