Out from Etherington and around trails on the north end of the system is very thin and whooped up bad. Out of Cataract is smooth for a bit, then a little rough and thin, then you get to the “southern trails” - south of Cataract Creek - plenty of snow and still sounds fairly nice/not whooped up.

Rode much of the system on Tuesday, getting pretty rough especially the northern trails...any plans for grooming operations?

The link below is a great article written by Nicole from The Fernie Snowmobile Association. I'd encourage users of the Cataract Creek area to consider what effort and cost goes into maintaining the trails year-round.

After reading this article, if you'd like to see the direct efforts of the CSC Volunteers, please circle back to page 1 of this thread and see the work that has gone on this year alone. Please feel free to review post #16 of this thread that I reposted from ASA Executive Director Chris Brookes.

Trail passes and memberships can be purchased through out website:

Thanks.

What's with all the hikers/snowshoers at Cataract staging area today. Must have been 20 SUVs parked there by 10AM today. I guess it's not good enough they get the rest of K country all to themselves.

Mount Burke is a popular hiking route. We do have to share the lot with the hikers as technically, parking any vehicles on the 940 is not permitted (regardless that the road is closed and not passable beyond the Cataract parking lot)... We’ve been warned of this in the past.

Most grooming updates are posted internally on the CSC intranet communications page.

I bought a trail pass in december on line and have not had any reply from the club. I even called the trail pass person but still have no luck getting my trail pass. What should I do?

It takes snow, time, money and volunteers to make trails. Without one of those things it does not happen. If you have any of those things please help out. Looks like the club has made great leaps again this year in pre season trailwork and equipment upgrades. Good job volunteers and all those helping support the efforts out there and provincially.

As you can see, I've sat on this comment for a few days now. All I'm going to respond with is: refer to my post (#85) above.

Cam I posted updates on conditions when I did the grooming. Guess we will wait for public updates. I thought that`s what this page was set up for.

There are some of us that don't want to be on social media to find info on our favorite areas I think there should be options .
