If anyone is talking to the province can they see if we can switch to a sticker for a license plate instead of an aluminum one.
They are currently redoing the vechile ones so they may be willing to listen this time.

Really makes a guy wonder why the registration fees we pay in alberta don't go to the ASA, at least in partial.
Not like we ride OHV's on the highway...........

And in sask the only OHV vehicle we can put a plate on is a sled. Cant do it on dirt bikes, side by sides or quads which still surprises me. A guy has to insure those units through house insurance usually.
Went out there today
Found some snow at the top of etherrington trail , enough to get us retards stuck once or twice
catterac staging is rocky and hard on skies, not recommended....but like I said above etherington staging would be my recommendation if a guy wants to go out there
There was probably 8 to 10 fallen trees on the trail which we moved when we thought it would help others Few of the small ones , you just buck over.
The gps said we did 35kms today
When I thaw out and get out of the hottub I’ll download some pics

A dump would be nice obviously but if you have a itch..I think staging at etherington and heading up top would scratch it. I have some pics but it won’t let me upload them here. It kept coming up as an error.

I really don’t think so from that side It’s skimpy here and there down low when the trees cover the trail but it was leaps and bounds better then Cateract staging
Up top of etherington trail right in the thick trees before you get to the top , it was all of 2 feet.. I found out cause my son slid into a fallen tree well and it was a deep pull out lol

Maybe for people that know Cateract can tell me where this spot is. In the trees like mentioned is just Beautiful.

Thats up on Etherington Ridge. Wind blows and dumps snow on the trail. Big long climb up from the valley below. Nice area great view.
Thanks for the update! We are looking at going out Saturday with the club snowmobile with its' roller or drag on behind. It is not the "big girl", but we can get the snowmobile out of the shop at Cataract and onto the trail for sure to at least do something. If it is felt there is little to no risk of damage to the big groomer (steel grouser bars on tracks) we may take her out, but that is a maybe for now.
I don’t know anything about your small groomer capabilities but Skyline was drifted in on both sides of the summit today
For me those 10 or 15 drifts near the top were evil... All of “4-5 “ feet mounds
Final conclusion I’m old !!
I know you guys have seen a million things over the years , just throwing a comment out there for that trail

Those drifts take the full size groomer. They have been shoveled before but they blow back in within hours. Small groomer is used to set a smooth packed trail for a solid base from ground to snow level. This builds a solid base to prevent mogul memory later on in season.

What would you say the staging area and main trail depth is?
Gotta get a couple of memberships this year since I think we may make a handful of trail rides with the fam this year opposed to travelling as much.

Etherington Staging area is skimpy and my guess is Cateract will be worse
The Trail riding in before you start to climb has rocks kicked up. It was snowing a bit up top and having older sleds we just buck through what ever
There was 4 or 5 trucks in staging but I didn’t see anyone out there and we did 80kms today

Ya ttmach1 I’m thinking you were the first to stage today I got there are 945 and you were already sledding!
I have been out a few times and the snow has been continuing to accumulate up higher but with the winds today some areas that were previously covered were swept clean while others were drifted in. And as ttmach1 says, down low be prepared for some 50 meter stretches of dug up stones.

Ya, that was us. We got to staging at 8 ish
I’m not sure why the trail at staging has a gate on it , so we buck through the campground and pick up the trail from there
The M6 had a couple bogging issues again today , got me in some trouble when it happened at the worse time. The belt is loose so I guess I need some shims on the secondary bolt and hope that tightens it. Not sure where do get more shims at this point , I’ll call Ralph’s. The bogging is strange because it happens so randomly.
Next time I go out there I’ll shoot you a message to see if your around ����
