Hey Guys. Sorry for the delay. Scott is out of town hunting and will be back this evening. Glen has moved back north and is not as involved. I've had two spine surgeries this past summer so I won't be doing much this year. Maybe contact Darryl at the The Accessories Shop in High River as he'll be able to better advise you what to bring besides a trail lunch.

The reason we've gone to TeamSnap over any other forms of media is that TeamSnap allows us to organize better than any other platform out there. Until last week, the CSC did not own the access to our website and it cost $$$ every time we made changes to the site; TeamSnap allows us to do everything instantly without extra fees, and it's arguably the easiest form of social media to use.

is there a way you can post details of how to join this app and group so that people on Snowandmud can follow along? or is this something that you must be a CSC member to be a part of?

In order to be on TeamSnap one must be a member of the CSC. TeamSnap was paid for and donated to the club by a great club member and sponsor. We elected back then that one must be a member of the club to have access to this as we post club specific information on that app. If someone is an ASA member of another club, and purchases a "CSC club only" (will require proof of current ASA membership to purchase the CSC member only) membership, they will be invited to join the app then.

Ok. Just got the call from the trails:

South end is in decent shape. Groomer has been out all day on the south system.

North system is a bit bumpy out of Etherington staging area.

It’s being described as great early season conditions with better snow the more south and west one goes.

That Etherington trail sees the most action. I was spending about 4-5 hrs just to groom that trail with the sleds. The big groomer will take care of it in a pass or 2. Good job guys. Missing this

I went out to Etherington today to try out my new Polaris and to see if I still know anything about sledding since it's been almost 30 years. Had a great time! Ran into three guys coming from Cataract and there were two more at Etherington as I was leaving at 215 pm. It is easy to see the work the guys put in on Saturday, what a great service to the community. As winter progresses I'm hoping to meet some people who can handle riding with a slower guy.

I got the bug and was out three times last week so I guess I can answer.........to me most trails have enough snow to ride but coming out of both staging areas it is bumpy. The trail straight west of Cataract staging area has scant snow for the first couple km but gets better. Baril Loop is sketchy IMO. Assuming Wilkinson Summit Trail is the road (I may be wrong I'm a newbie) there is not enough snow to ride it. I haven't ridden Oyster/Skyline/Pasque but will this weekend. I've seen a few guys out, it's been a lot of fun, but I'm new and easily amused. sled.jpg

I'm going to be home form work the 19th and was wanting to go for a first ride of the season on the 20th. I just need to get out and burn some fuel.
Just wondering if anyone is interested to ride the 20th as going by myself doesn't seem like the best plan..

Anyone have any Intel from the recent snow? North trail? South trail? Prob gonna head out on Friday for a test ride.

What's the best way to Fording? ( I hear it's somewhat alpine?)

I haven't been out yet. I was trying to get out last Sunday but didn't find anyone to go with.

To get to Fording is off of Baril loop... A branch off of it... There are several branch and trails.... If you haven't been there it's best to go with someone who has. If you don't like your skis bouncing off rocks don't go....

I believe the trail in to there is broke in now from what I read on Alberta Sledderz on Facebook....
I might be interested in going Friday if you want to go there.

Google maps is saying hwy 940 is closed to access Etherington loading zone.

Can someone confirm or deny?

Google is telling me 3 hours to get there due to going all the way around. No thanks. Screenshot_20191212-101307.jpg

If I remember correctly Hwy 940 is always closed from Dec to May. Only way in is Hwy 40 west from Longview.
