Anyone know what the fines are for riding a dirt bike with no insurance and registration? I'm trying to prove to a guy that it doesn't pay to ride without your papers.

If you drive without valid license ,insurance, and regisration on your ohv you could be looking at approx $750 in fines or more. This depends on the mood of the officer, your attitude etc... you can also have your ohv impounded. you could be arrested as well. I have'nt found a clear list of all the fines, but there are lots that you can get. and to get the ohv back you have to produce valid insurance etc.... plus storage fees and everything. I dont think it is worth it. you get caught once and you could be looking at well over $1000 and possibly criminal charges/loss of machine.

or you can go to the registries and pay the $45.54+tax for regisration. and my insurance is only $13 a month. so right around $200 a year to be legit. less than ONE of the fines if you get caught. oh ya and make sure you have your drivers licence on your person.

I was threatened with $460 for no insurance and registration and riding on county property. No insurance and registration would be about $350 I am guessing.

I know you can get insurance for the on/off road bikes but can you get insurance for a dirt bike or enduro?

i believe you can yes.... if the county mounties stop you they'll ask for it and registration, if you don't have it and your 15 they drain your tank and make you push the bike home

I'm not sure if the fines for an off road vehile without valid insurance are the same as an on road. I think the fine for an on road vehicle is 2500 for no insurance and i "know that and unregestered vehicle is like 350 dollars and then the fines for riding on county roads were legal. The speed limimt in the parkland couny would apply. Anyway if the cops are stopping you chances are really good that the reason is well justified. And furthermore do not run from them. A running from the police charge carrys a 1 year minimum jail time for public endangerment plus whatever else the cops has on his plate.
Most of these fines i can vouch for with reciepts. Be aware and if you see a vehicle slow down and make it look harmless.
