Hi everyone my name is Shawn, I rode my first sled in 1969 in Nova Scotia I was 10. I motocross until I was 17 and cut my teeth on Kawasaki 2 stroke triples. I stopped riding when the kids came along and have spent the past 20+ years looking for thrills at all the local ski hills with planks strapped to my feet. I decided to dive in head first and have picked up a couple of sleds a 165" 850 and 154" 800.
I am setting up for my Avi course and have put together a pretty good kit. I'm smart enough to realize I need to start out low and slow and look forward to getting to the snow. Anyone interested in having me tag along I've been known to pick up the odd coffee tab.
Looking forward to getting to know a few of you.

Shawn

Thanks for the warm welcome. What is the best way to connect with groups heading out for runs in different areas. Say I want to go riding next weekend and want to try and join up with a group. Is there a thread or area of this forum to watch or post to?

It will come along as you ride. The conditions thread might be a good place to start as it covers all the different areas; Kootenays, Revelstoke, Golden, Shuswap/Sicamous, etc..

My husband and I are riding Sicamous and Hunter's Range the week of Jan 20. Probably home Jan 26 or 27. Staying at the Sundog in Sicamous. We are slightly older than you and many of our riding partners are retiring. We aren't ready to yet. We prefer to ride meadows and trees. Not huge into the steep and deep. I have to say I have trouble navigating the blog so hopefully we can get in touch if you are interested. If you are interested I can send you my cell number. We will hopefully make a couple more trips this winter if those dates don't work for you. Ross and Pam
