So What does "change" mean............I guess ,the big "O" does not want our oil. He would rather buy it from terroists i guess.........He wants protectionism as well ,no U S dollars going to canadians.

The only change i see for the good old USA , is the "change" left in there pockets .........cause by the time this guy is done that`s all the poor americans will have left..........

If they don`t want our oil , there are others that do........I think it`s time Obama learned it`s a two way street !!:beer::beer:

They just don't want to pay for it............when they get hungry enough, they'll just take it.

personally I dont think he has an option at this time. He is kind of between a rock and a hard place with the elections around the corner he is fighting to get re-elected and approving the pipe line could end his chance. On the other hand maybe there is a bright side after all as they just reported on the news that keystone agreed to a different route which was just passed by the Nebraska government today. So it is not dead.

Personally, I hope the pipeline doesn't go. We need more refineries UP HERE. Makes no sense to ship our crude south so they can refine it...then sell the fuel back to us...and um, well...WE'RE HAVING SHORTAGES!! we pump the sh!t out of the ground here and we can't go buy diesel!! Pi$$es me off.

Exactly. Build up the infrastructure here so we don't have to rely on them to have it refined. Create jobs up here rather than in the US

Yea, what he said!

We can't continue to export our raw materials; have to start processing here!

I can cross the border and pay less for fuel and I am not limited to 300 litres, fuggin ridiculous!

Personally when Mulroney signed the "free Trade" deal it just screwed us. We are constantly giving away our resources to other countries just to buy it back at however many times the price. It has to stop.

We don't have the labour force required to build the upgraders here. Even if we did it would take years and years to build them. The oil would have to go there anyways. And wether we like it or not the oil company's are a business and it is cheaper to ship it down there. If anything the government should be stepping in and looking after albertans best interests

The oil doesn't belong to the oil companies, it belongs to the province. Instead of increasing our capacity to extract the oil then ship it out of country, postpone some of the projects in Ft Mcmurray and shift the workforce to building refineries. It's not like the stuff will go bad in the ground.

I'm very conflicted over this. I don't agree with government intervention in business EVER. But it may be necessary here.

My Grandpa was head of the Canadian Cattleman's Association and really pushed for NAFTA but over the years the US has bent the rules of this to their liking and Canada has bent over and took it like a prison bit.....well you know what i'm saying

Our guy (Harper) may not have the rockstar image ,however unlike his contemporaries to the south , he does know how to run a country.........plus he is about eight and a half times smarter than the guy down south. We will come out alright, but unless something changes down south they are in for a BIG wreck.

They are in no position to be choosy, they need to get there house in order before they preach to us...... And that includes Obama,Clinton,Gore, Moore,Cameron etc. etc. and even fricken Bob Barker for that matter..................

not sure if I agree that Harper knows how to run a country. IMO he is just like the rest of them. Plus do you really want Ottawa telling you where to sell your oil?? Leave it to business and what makes the numbers work and benefit the province and its people.

Sorry , but the rest of them (other G8 countries) are all in a mess compared to ours. Harper does a great job of allowing buisness to make money, yet not letting them rape the contry like they did in the US and other countries....
Harper has no intentions of telling anyone where to sell there oil,he just wants to tell the USA if you don`t want our oil fine.....China has the cash to buy it anyway, hell ,they own the mortage on the US anyhow. I think the US hs to start treating Canda with a little more respect in terms of a trading & NAFTA partner.............
