I didn't know you were thinking about going big! I think my next machine might be the nytro.

I think your taste for big HP and disregard for lightweightness ( you ride the 1000...) calls for a T- Apex. Lots of good deals coming up from the states if you dont want to build one.

If you ride down here and up in the hills.. I would probably recommend NOS.. With turbo kit you have to run straight race gas all the time.. But it could be run down here just cant keep it pinned for a long of time.. And would have to watchegts and a/f gauge to make sure it doesn'y lean out.. Some of the companies aren't making turbo kits for the doo 1000 anymore as they are not in demand anymore.. But i do know of a kit or two that are still available.

What is the rough cost to have Nos installed on my 2006 MXZ Renagade?
How long can a bottle last with my 1000?

we ride with a buddy that has juice on his 1000 summit and a big bottle will last him almost a day.... All depends how hard you are on the happy button...... You will need to install a boondocker controller or similar and i rould recomend an egt guage as well to monitor what's happening! I'm just watching this thread as i was thinking the same this year, but might just go big pipe instead. Have thought of twin pipes and that would put the 1000rt at almost 200 hp right there.....hmmmm

Turbo it..... Run low boost and you can run a race / orem fuel mix. By staying low cou can run it easily in he flats.

Just remember.... boost or nos, there are adjustments that need to be made to handle the altitude changes....... changes that cannot be covered with changing your clckers.

either way you go, seriously consider a shock wave helix

I'd go with NOS on that sled. That way the HP is there when you need it. Nothing against turbos but you said that you wanna use this sled for ditch banging. You don't need a turbo for that. Plus if you are concerned about running a certain type of fuel, you can run pump gas on low boost but then you have spent a ton of cash on a turbo that is making about the same hp as a set of twin pipes or NOS.

I was considering a turbo on my XP, but race fuel is not available where I live, so the only way to run boost was to use a low boost setting and run pump gas. That wouldn't have given me the hp that I desired and I would be out $6300 to boot. I decided to run pipes, reeds and a head. Cheaper and produced about the same amount of power as running low boost. This was told to me by TurboBoyz.

worth it IMO..... not for everybody but I know once I put nos on my RT, it was not even close to a flat land machine without serious adjustment... this would have made it easy!!!

Thanks, I was told that the pipes are crazy hot and melt the inner plastic,
I sled 50 km about with out stopping sometimes, and I do not want to care about the heat.

Great info thanks.:)

I do like to race, I have been to Wetaskiwin Snow Drags got 5th after 2 days of racing me Stock... 136" 700 Summit ME.
Went to Alberta Beach with same sled but in Mod class Pipes,Reeds, chluching
Gearing,and more,
But still did not place, HOLES were to deep to take off(turbo sleds).
and sled would come out of holes and go striaght up in the air.
sucked up limiter did not help.

That 700M was Just a fast as the 1000RT but the Jumping was hard to be flat in the air, and ride is real bad compairing the
RT1000SDI X Renagade.

That is why I need to make this paid for 1000 fly: Racing, Dich Baging and once a year or more getting to Mountains...

Hope to hear for you all.

If any one wants any help making there 2000 or so 700 ZX go faster I may be able to help.

A freind of mine put twin pipes on his RT and has nothing but issues ever since and i think he's gone thru 2 or 3 belly pans due to melting... I think that you are way better off doing the nitrous and a good big volume single pipe like a dynoport.. Plus we also have some other clutching stufff available for it..

I was going to put twin pipes on, but after talking to many a folk and seeing a computer that had melted(you have to be creative and relocate the computer, or else!), i decided against it... It will give the 1000 about 20 more horses and put it into the 200hp range with proper mapping and a controller, but it is very sensitive tune wise.... Always adjusting the controller! Biggest bang for buck with least amount of work is 1- clutch kit, 2- single fat pipe, 3- air intake system(i used the timbersled system), 4- nos really works well with the big girl........ That would put you up around 210 hp or better.

I ran a 40 shot on my 1000. That 1000 seems to really like spray. I had boss noss with EGT. I ran the timbersled intake for one ride. Did not like it at all. Switched back to stock and it ran alot better. I had 5000 miles on my 1000.

I really like the Boss Noss set up. It will add fuel through the stock injectors and adds just the nitrous into the airbox. The fuel controller that comes with the boss noss kit you buy senses when you push the nitrous button and adds the fuel at the same time opening a solonoid in the smart box and adding nitrous. I ran a 40 shot and It worked very well. You can run 30 shot that is standard with the kit. If you were going to take it somewhere I know Ken at specialty sleds had a 1000 summit with boss noss. He atleast has experience with it, but it is not that hard to install if you are used to working on sleds. Any mod shop should be able to do it Hardest thing is the control box and where to put the nitrous injectos. I ran a 3 lb bottle and it was enough for a day or 2. I found a kit on dootalk that was new still in box with controll box and everything I needed for 450 US. There are deals out there. Just buy an extra bottle one for longer trips. Get a set of EGT's too
