Picked up a new Esab Rebel 215ic welder, and man is this ever a cool unit. Kinda does everything.
120 or 230, mig, smart mig, tig, stick. Lots of great reviews on these things as well. Anybody else happen to have one?

can't tig aluminum, however they are coming out next year with a model that can. I'm not sure on the frequency or scratch start.

Congrats on the new equipment! I’m a Lincoln guy but have a buddy that has the same esab as you. Nice machine, they’re industry leaders in Europe and have some cool features. I’ve heard they’ve had the odd issue with the electronics here and there but sounds like just infant mortality on new machines that all manufacturers experience.

Yeah I'm pretty excited to play with it, I've never tig welded before so I can't wait to play with that.

Nice machine. Esab makes nice stuff! If it don’t do aluminum it will be scratch start tig. You could probably get a spool gun for aluminum I would think.

Nope same polarity. Just most of the time there’s a switch to switch it over to the spool gun, just makes it so the drive roles on the machine don’t turn.
