Hey guys and gals, trailer sales have been steadily increasing so I had to step up my trailer hauling capacity. 1 Dually and a big ass trailer hauler. I just returned from Texas with my new truck 2001 F 350 DRW 4X4 7.3 ltr. I have a few questions and will attach some pictures. I don't know if the truck has been chipped there are a few swithches that I've tried to figure out but maybe you've seen them before. Thanks for any help!

Don't know the answer to your questions,.. but I will impose a couple.

Did you get DRL installed?
Did you get a anti theft vehicle immobilization system installed?

Your best bet is to try and chase the wiring. My guess for the rocker switch is probably driving lights. The other might be for an airbag kit wired with a compressor.

I Import vehicles for customers as a business, so yes DRL will be done and it has a Clifford Alarm system with an immobilization system installed. I know that these are easy pickings for Thevies out there!

I tried the driving lights switch but no go, I never thought about air bag! I'll check it out, thanks guys.

Here a pic of my last load 36FT-30FT goosenecks, 2007 Victory Jackpot, 2001Polaris Scrambler, and a (don't laugh) Baptismal Font! I need all the help I can get to make it to heaven! LOL

Nice Rig! The dollar is looking good right now, should be good for business.

Mind if I ask where you normally find the best deals in the States? The further the better I bet.

Pretty much anywhere, you just have to shop hard a be fussy! I love cars and trucks out of California, Texas, Arizona (nice and clean zero rust) I bought this truck out of Texas as my personal workhorse, the undercarriage and body looks like an 06. My trailers are my constant, I work everything else around my pick-up dates. I think with the US economy there will be some good buys down south for a while.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, no go on the high idle Murray. Trying to chase the wires back just haven't had much time on my hands. Showtime just send me a pm or give me a ring when you find one. I pick up every 6 weeks in Fargo North Dakota if you wanna shop around there or Minnesota is close to.

I will look under the box. I plan on getting a slip tank so maybe I'll get lucky and have some wiring done for me. Never works out like that for me! LOL Here's a few pics of my real Firetruck, you've probably heard this one go by Tyler.

I'm new to this forum, but I have a 2000 F250 7.3L.

Those switches aren't for a chip, likely auxillary lights. I've never seen a 7.3 with a high idle control on the dash. The 7.3L will automatically increase idle during warm-up.

The 7.3 is a workhorse but some things you need to watch.

- There has been a recall for the CPS. It's common for a truck to go through a couple of these. It's 5 minutes to fix. I keep a spare in the glove box. An internet search for Ford CPS will help you. The Glow Plug Relay (GPR) is another little thing that can give trouble, but it too is 5 minute fix once you figure it out.

- The first three upgrades I'd suggest are a cold air intake (I have an AFE Stage II and like it), upgraded exhaust (4" turbo back) and guages for trans temp, exhaust temp and boost.

- The first three upgrades will make the most of any chip/tuner. Once you're in the market for a chip/tuner, look at DP tuner first. They are 7.3L specialists.

With these upgrades, your truck will barely notice those little trailers you've got :)

Thanks Bigdaddy35! That was going to be my next question on here (What upgrades to do on the 7.3 Powerstrokes) I am looking for a lil more umph! and maybe some fuel mileage but hey it's a 1 ton Dually so you have to burn some fuel! LOL

By the way great first post! Keep'em coming!

You're welcome.

The thing with upgrades like this... in theory you can get better mpg's but for some reason each upgrade seems to cause increased rightfootitis (the unexplained heaviness of the right foot when attached to the go pedal):d

Cheers

I've also noted sometimes the rear tires look like they're smoking?
