hey im klymc, new to sledding if you have any tips for the mountains id love to here some.

Take a ast1 avy course, and buy the gear, beacon, probe, shovel, first aid equipment, all that will be covered in the course

x2 on the AST course. I just did the classroom portion of it and there are a lot of valuable things to take away from it.

My wife and I are going to take the AST course together. She is a real beginner, and I'm mostly a beginner. I bought all the gear to go riding in the mountains and I want her to have everything too.

Just not sure that she will get into it... Can you rent this gear somewhere until we figure out if she really wants to get into it?

PS I don't ride much, therefore I don't have many tips for ya'.................but the guys above have great advice!
