Ouch where are you that concrete is that pricey? Paying $170/meter here and $160/hr for pump.

I used northland pumpers out of Barhead and A&T in La Biche is $290 a meter so i got a bargain haha

built my second garage at the new house last year
30 deep x 24 wide 12' walls
10'-6" x 16 overhead door ( fits sleds/quads/dirtbikes on sled deck )
2x6 walls
fully insulated /osb inside walls
forced air unit heater
was just over 28K all in complete

I have both in floor and radiant tube heating in my buildings. For my garage where the roof is only 10’ the in floor is awesome. For the shop where the roof is 16’ and the building is 2400 ft2 you can’t beat the radiant tube and lots of insulation. My 30x30 was about $35k fully slammed including plywood on the interior. The 40x60 was about $170k but that’s tin inside and out and a mezzanine. Shop is awesome with the radiant tube heat.

Yea if you're that far out it's not bad. For the odd job even an hour outside of city, we use our city guys because they are still cheaper, for the concrete they don't even charge anything extra. The little guys out there just cannot compete for price.

Usually not much and generally because it's temporary you don't need to worry about property line setbacks either. That gets a bit stickier when you pour a pad under it though.

I would just double check this. Sometimes it is based off of area, height or yard coverage and not the fact it's "temporary". 30x40' is over 100 sqm

obviously need to check local zoning laws but I know a couple guys that have done it in cities and gotten away with it.

Well life happens.... I finally pulled the trigger on the garage build and its been going pretty good so far.

We ended up with;

28' x 28' with 11' walls
16' x 10' commercial insulated door
In floor heat

Looking forward to this being done for sled season... and I can finish a boat project or two inside it after...

Nice work, cant help but notice the light bar still not mounted on the ol truck yet. Guessing its at the same acreage . What size of slab did you go with, and how much was it if you don't mind a guy asking. Starting to work on a Barndo budget. if ya need any pimped shop ideas, swing by when your heading through red deer next time. The guy I bought my place off went all out and didn't miss much. Tons of power outlets, in floor and forced air heat, 4' checker plate on all walls, checker plate window surrounds, washer/dryer/toilet/urinal, mezzanine for the boiler, hot water tank and oversized air compressor, wired for sound and entertainment system. You may not want to have all the entertainment stuff in the shop, but make sure it set up for TV hangin on the wall. Use it for the computer screen, as it works great when ordering sled/jet boat parts.

It’s a 28x28 foundation and 25x32 parking pad, cost 23,500$ still have to do the apron on the alley side for another 2500$..

Saturday was windy, Sunday we made progress! I dunno who was counting truss’ on the package but we were short one… Fack me! Couldn’t get the other gable on.
