hold onto your bingo monies for the new engine imo.
have heard bad reviews from guiys on the ones they have now, low power, nower near what they claim on paper, and really hard on fuel.
my other journeyman in our shop his parents have a hotshot company bought 4 of them took all 4 back and told them to shove em.

I drove the 650 dodge and I would wait. Can't even pass unless your down hill. We had sleds on the deck and a two place aluminum. Totally gutless and a pig on fuel

depends on whether or not you want to keep it stock or not. if you don't mid voiding any warrenty, do a complete delete on your current cummins and it'll run way better. to my knowledge nothing has really changed on the new 6.7s other than dodge changing the tune a bit to put out more power, which you can get with a programer such as a smarty or one from H&S.

my current megacab is a 5.9 cummins and it's warmed over already (double chipped, turbo back 4" mbrp exhaust, blade intake runner, airaid intake, etc......) so not worried about my current truck......

Which cummins are you guys referring to being gutless and crappy economy. I have an 08 Mega cab with the 6.7. All I did was put in a Superchips programer on the extreme setting and I have tons of pulling power and get decent mileage. I'm really happy with the truck.

if your not worried about your warranty then get the 6.7 do an H&S minni Maxx or Black maxx tuner or a smarty ssr they work awesome on the dodges! S&B makes a great intake but from what i hear from some of the guys in the states they are saying dodge is having trouble with the air intake ssytems so maybe stay clear! You can do a dpf and cat delete pipe but mightas well for another $150-200 do a complete 5'' turbo back exhaust and an EGR delete kit and that truck will come to life! I watched one run in spokane made 435 rwhp and almost 900ft lbs of torque not bad for just some tunning and exhaust. He also claims close to 850 km's unloaded and he only has 30,000 km's on it. talk to chad hall or vinny hime at Diesel Performance & DPF Delete kits for Cummins, Duramax & Powerstroke Alligatorperformance.com both these guys have 700+ hp trucks Chads dmax is over 1000

the 2011s they changed the programming again to allow for the scr injection and tighter emissions laws. the units that i was refering to were 07 or 08 s that the company traded in for the new ones, took them back and went back to the old ones.

for the monies that they want for a new 1 ton of any of the big threee have you checked out the internationals? have wayy less emisions crap and bigger ride. i know on the big units anyways at least they dont have to comply with epa 2010 emmissions for a couple years still because when wind of the 2010 emmissions crap came out the bought a chit load of carbon credits to buy themselves some time. the 2012s still only come with a dpf, everybody else has to run scr injection already.

as for the delete well ric you know the rules about that.

thanks....... That's what i thought. With my '06 megacab 3500 4x4 cummins i can get 1100km to a tank pushing hard, no load..........

I know of a few 6.7's gettin' great power and mileage too with simple chip tunes.......

What size trailer you pull?

the cummins is epa compliant until at least 2014 with the current engine set-up and does not need the ureah injection until at least 2014..... So, no the dodge don't need the scr injection..........

i do believe the 2011+ C&C have urea injection.

the stock 68RFE tranny isnt the best, better then the 48 with the 5.9, but with a TCM tune from H&S, it will hold up a heck of a lot better. Some guys are running with no problems running the big tunes, some guys are having issues, me being one of them. I lost my factory trans at 40000km. mind you im partially to blame. I live in the mountains, and do lots of heavy towing turning 37" tires, so problems are about to rise.

The 2011 and up all use the mercedes hd trans...... Same trans they use in the big trucks!!! Won't be having trans issues with these ones!!! Only the 4500 and 5500's have the ureah injection......... 3500's are clear until 2014, minimum

I've got a little over 3000 km on my 2011 3500 Laramie C/C SRW LB 4X4, 6.7 and 68RFE. Personally, I love everything about the truck. Power is good (yes, even when towing) and fuel economy isn't too terrible. Just got back from a 1200 - 1500 km trip (not towing) and doing speeds from 105 - 125 km/h, It average just over 14 L/100 km. Not too shabby for an emission-laden truck that's not broken in yet. I'll do the same mods and deletes as I did to my '07 for a little more power and economy. Hopefully this new one will be as reliable as the '07. Time will tell.

EDIT : I was going to wait for the new H.O. engine, but decided I'd rather have the no-charge diesel rebate - a $9300 saving.

What is that rebate about? Are you not charged for the deisel upgrade over the Hemi or what?

That's correct. The promotion is "No-Charge Cummins Turbo Diesel" which, according to the Dodge.ca site is a $9,345 value. This only applies to the 350/650 engine, not the new H.O. engine.
