My old chainsaw was getting...well anoying. The chain is smaller so I would always have issues with it getting dull quick. So today I bought a new sthil. Fawk this thing kicks ass. If you are looking for a medium duty saw check it out. MS 250 C-BE

I like it as it is very light and uses the 3/8 chain. Plus it doesnt cost 800-1700 like the bigger saws do.

I was going to get a husky as I have always liked the older ones but I think the new stihls are pretty damn good. Bought a stihl leaf blower last year that kicks ass too.

I bought a Stihl 230 and the ocheechee reserve boys liked it so much they took it. Bought a new one and now it gets lokked in the truck, if I sould figure out how to get the quad in the truck, I would lock that in there as well. Great saw though for the size. Wife bought a chain saw sharpener from Lee Valley and does it ever work slick.

OK holy crap eh!!!! I know!!! Since I've been working at a store that sells Stihl, I've become obsessed with the Stihl power stuff!!! I sold 3 of the Ms 250 C-BEs in the same day, they have soooo much oomph for their size eh. the Ms 211 is kick azz right now too because it has a carbide tip chain on it for free.. I put one on my MS 170 and I still have yet to sharpen it, and I use it for everything, from building stuff with the kids, gardening, then when we do firewood I limb stuff with it. My next saw I'll save up for will be a MS 290 with a 20" bar.!! OOOOO and I super love the Kombi system.. one day I will have one!

tip for ya, before ya even start the saw, or use your brand new chain, take ur flat file and give the rakers 5 to 6 strokes of the file. u want to see the chips fly.

i have a stihl 260. love it. don't like the new ones with that friggin dangerous start they do. pull the rope wait a few seconds and it starts. dangerous.

I like the easy start but it takes time to get used to it. Also have to warn others if they use it too lol.

If in doubt more power is better! Sometimes there are BIG trees on the trail.
I have a Husky 372 for about 5 years and it has been flawless.

It's hard to beat the OLD huskys! IM. They changed somewhere along the way. My husky is probably 16 years old and it still starts every time. It's a great saw and I'd buy another if I could! I truly think the stihl is a better saw now hands down. I have the stihl kombi weed wacker with broom sweeper, roto tiller and blower. Best $$ I ever spent. Except for the broom it didn't move snow the way I wanted but it works ok! I was looking at the smaller stihls at parkland party rental in RD yesterday. They had a little arbourest saw for $349. Seamed like a good size for the back of a SXS.

i used to work for a husky dealer and the best way to look at it was if you want a smaller saw get a stihl and larger one get a husky, husky has 2 different motors. husky usa and husky sweden. the larger saws have husky sweden motors in them where the smaller ones have the usa motors eg 240 is a 40cc usa motor revs a max of 11k i believe it was, husky440 40cc swedish motor revs like 13k or somthing like that. it was a big difference. anyways sorry for the useless information :p

I think there is a bigger size but this one for what we use it for is more than enough.

My dad has a 55? I think it is. That thing is awesome too. I has built two log houses with it among other things. It is what made my want to get a husky. But like you guys said there is something different about the newer ones. More so the mid size and small saws they are bringing out.

cool.. ya there is 1 bigger, the KM130, but I figure the 90 will be plenty of oomph! Too cool! I'd get the little chain saw attachment too. Wicked!! K take pics of it in action!!! I can live vicariously through you!
