Anyone know where to find a used apex motor anywhere. Trying to find one for a friend. Rod went through the block.

Too much. He did not have a boost gauge!!!!! Tried to tell him, but would not put one on. That is what happens when you run too much boost on Pump premium.

that could be a hard one to find. yamaha does have full motors, just parts.
good luck with that one. i think about a 8 grand touch for a $150 gauge
no more problems with your nytro- i guess the good thing is now you know how to rebuild it. - lol

Hauck performance has an engine on there site. Look under apex access. icon, there is exhaust, etc.

I found him a motor in Minnisota for 3000 with 2500miles on it. dont know if he is buying it or not.
After may hours I have the Nytro build and running strong. I put a 16*162 under it last week so I am wanting to test it out. It runs like a champ NOW.

hey that sounds very very like my sled... 700 km on STOCK sled and #1 went threw the block, but i get a new japan motor from yamaha, i guess i get lucky well not that lucky but they wanted to build a new one i said absolutly not, i was looking for the yamalube bottle to grease her up the dealers a#$ but they pulled through for me i was happy.

This was definately a case of too much boost and not enough octane. Found a motor with Carillo rods and Low compression JE pistons already installed.
