Need some truck advice

Yesterday morning I T boned an SUV that blew a stop sign at a blind intersection. I hit them really hard broad side, spun them backwards and they slid backward into a house. Totally their fault. I walked away not hurt at all. They all left in the meat wagon but they will be fine too. My worry now is my truck. The whole front end is toast for sure, probably frame damage and had steering and probably suspension issues too. I guessing around 25G damage but that's just a guess. Here is my issue. Truck is a 2009 GMC 2500 Duramax with 300,000kms on it. Truck was very mint, loaded with every option 4 door. Very nice truck. Now im thinking it may be a write off but im scared they are gonna bend me over because of the mileage. I was looking on kijiji last night and it looks like I would need to spent 30-35grand to replace with the same truck only problem is none of them have high mileage so that's the catch. Anyone have some advice for me to get best value back for my truck if it comes down to that? I don't want to drive a lesser vehicle now that I was in a crash that wasn't my fault.

Print off those ads on Kijiji. Most insurance adjusters now use kijiji to value vehicles. Try and get ones in similar condition, options and mileage.

Also pull any invoices you have of recent major work (6 months or so) you have had done to the vehicle.

Can always pull a Kelly Blue Book Value off the web for the truck, and try to estimate what you'll get from there.

If you're looking at the same vehicles but without high mileage then they're not the same vehicles. 300k km is a lot and realistically the truck would have started to cost you a lot of money in the next 50k km. It'll prob be a writeoff so gather any and all recent receipts you have and present them to your adjuster when you meet with him. Comb kijiji/CL/auto trader/dealer sites and try to find similar trucks as far as options (1st priority) and km that are as close as possible (2nd priority) so their initial offer is good and then you can build on it. If you play your cards right this may work out in your favour if you can take the payout add some cash on top and end up driving the same truck with 100k fewer km on it. If you have a chance to see the truck before the initial investor go do it and clean it up so it looks spotless inside he will be evaluating things like interior and exterior condition so if the steering wheel and seats aren't worn that helps.

My GF just had her car written off for hail damage and it was well kept so the initial adjuster valued it quite high, higher than the 2nd adjuster would have but they have to go with the higher valuation. We ended up getting way more for it than we would have selling it privately.

That's the problem, they are 100% highway miles. Truck didnt have a scratch on it, seats still perfect, you name it, it was perfect. To look at or drive it you wouldn't think it had over 150kms on it. BUT the clock reads 300. Probably has less engine running hours than most trucks around 200K mark. It was a really good truck and in my mind its still worth a good dollar. Only problem is the odo reading. Its gonna be really tough

Same thing happened to a buddy of mine and he got way more than his truck was worth.

His was a 2003 crew cab 4x4 long box loaded with the 6.0 gas but he had 480000km on it and he got $13,500.lol

Might have helped that he had just finished detailing the truck in the afternoon before he got hit.

Lot of times it goes by who is at fault your fault on your insurance take what you can get ....their fault/insurance it usually gets padded pretty good

You don't have to accept the initial offer either....

My old chevy was stolen, 1989, 3500, 4x4, 6 passenger, long box, 454, standard, 130K km... they offered $5k

I said no way, find me a replacement... must be 4x4, 1 ton, 6 passenger, under 150K km.... they couldn't find anything even close, offered $8500, I accepted, bought it back at the salvage auction for $3K after it was recovered and had it for another 7 years.
