need help m7 2006 efi check engine light flashing

my sons m7 check engine light flashes as soon as you hit 1/4 throatle and the sled sounds like a sowing machine and does not have any power and will not rev up. shut the sled off and restart it and it idles fine until you give it gas any ideas

Check the wiring behind the bars , the yellow wire may be grounding out

Count the flashes. It's flashing a fault code, which you can then look up on the chart that's stuck to your ECU.

could also be a timing sensor... but check the code like Moyiesledhead suggested and go from there. If you can find the code Im sure I have them around.
