just bought a 05 rev 800 144 track with e-start on kijiji edmonton for $4000 so like the other guys said unless you can steel it from the guy it will likly cost you more if not way more then you could have paid for a high km unit that still runs just doo for a rebuild that way you can still wrench on it with the kids and get a good sled in the process for decent money. check with captian jacksparoow here on the site he did have one (no e-start) for 4200
by the way i bought it for my wife and she absolutly loves it.

Maxwell is right. Is the stator now suspect? The recoil? It is amazing what an overheated engine can melt around it. Alot of external heat is generated. The chassis is not weak................unless you run it into an immovable object. Just like everything else in the world that is man made.

Well I thank everybody for their help BUT i went and looked at this machine and wow what a piece of art. I think it has sat outside everyday of its life, tarp straps holding panels on, seat ripped and fixed, cracked bulk head, and the list goes on.

I gladly left it right where it sat.

On the other hand the engine IMO wasn't that bad. A new top end and it would have been fine. The kid shut it off before any serious damage happened BUT he also said he filled it with coolant before he rode it, so it probably has a cracked cooler or leaking hose or something. You would have thought he would see the green mile behind him. Anyway not a project for me.

Thanks Duck but that's the only place I ride. I own two Pro Poos, which is why I asked for advice. My expertise in Doo doesn't go far. The kids are just like me and want to wrench on something which is why I was looking for a project.

Thanks for the reply's but if the chassis is not in mint shape or decent I would never consider it anyway.

I was wondering what people had to say about the rev chassis and motor. I think they were a decent sled. The chassis was weak if I'm not mistaken? I could be wrong as I really don't follow Doo. The motor I thought was bomb Proof.
Well all the revs I have seen keep up with everyone else with there new sleds, I think its awesome that your doing a project sled with your kids who cares what shape it is or how much money it's going to cost Ya! you probably wont get your money out of it! But it's probably going to be worth more to you then that just the memories and time with your kids! Have fun with it!
