Glad to hear things worked out for you. I was quietly watching this thread and the moral I got from this story is always hire a reputable mover to deal with something like this in the first place.

Is this the new "Beels"? When did you start sitting back and being quiet.LOL

Bandit I'm glad you got some resolution and still a chitty deal for ya . I would still put the original guy on the hook for your expenses but seems to be a flake to start with so good luck. I always get people grinding me on jobs but you get what you pay for in the end!

dude, there are so many fly-by-night companies out there that will undercut those that do everything by the book it isn't even funny. we run into it all the time, guy calls, wants heavy machine hauled and when I give him a quote he says "well, X says they will do it for this much..." well then, go hire them. about 3 times out of ten we get a call to go pick up the load either at a scale or on the side of the road somewhere. can't blame a customer for trying to get the best deal, but you get what you pay for. well, sometimes...lol

Yeah, thought he was legit, wasn't the cheapest guy I talked to by far, but was available. Oh well, live and learn I suppose. Couple more cops called me today, talked to them for a bit. I still never received a breakdown of what I was being charged by the tow company, equipment used, hours worked, Etc.

That and every time I talked to people and the more questions I asked, the story kept changing. First it was moved to nisku on Sunday at the rcmps direction so the dollies could be inspected, then they said it the RCMP checked it out Saturday in Sherwood park, then it was Monday in nisku. Nuts

Lots of other crap too, nobody has a straight story. Probably not the end of this yet, I'm still going to ask questions about it. The more people that I talk to in the RCMP about it the better, cause then they ask questions too.

I imagine they already regret being dicks to me off the hop, but hey it made me mad enough to look into it further.

What gets me is that they're hauling this all over God's green acres with suspect dollies. And also, whats up with them hauling a piloted load on a Sunday? They were breaking the law as well :)
Glad you're getting some resolution to this.
