Need a head

A buddy is in search of a head for a diesel Ranger. Polaris price is $2000 so would like to find used if possible. Any ideas?

not a very common machine, could be super tough to find a used one. Maybe try ebay?

Where is it cracked? Is it in the combustion chamber, or the water jacket area?

Take it to a good cylinder head rebuilder, and it can probably be repaired/welded and then rebuilt....

He talked to a rebuild shop and they said that with where it is cracked, it is junk. The search continues.

I have always wondered about these things, is that a polaris built engine or is it made by someone else, would be sweet if it used a kubota or somthing parts would be readily available.

It is a Yanmar. Many out there that seem to be slightly different.

call Yanmar direct, see what they can offer you for options! they may have a reman somewhere.
