This post is not to be construed as a knock on the person, but information that she posted and placed in local news paper's, my opinion is that anyone that voted for her, could not have read her bio...

Had I know a person with virtually no qualifications could get a this job, I would have thrown my name into the hat...

I personally feel theses unqualified individuals and the party's that allowed them to run, have done this province a huge disservice, that the tax payers will be paying for years to come....

Don't worry about it. If Estephania misbehaves we can just get her parents to send her to her room in the basement, Without supper if she has been real bad...

Obviously everyone voted for change. Lots of bureacrats to keep the tom foolery to a minimum. Besides, she may actually turn out to be pretty good once she gets a bit of experience:)

Alberta politics will never be the same. That might be a good thing but the entitlement just may get more out of control.

Go through the info......there are parts of her personal Life she choose to disclose, I could care less about....just not sure having a learning disability in that line of work is appropriate.

Holy fawk guys!! We sure have alot of back seat politicians on here. Give the girl a chance. She hasn't even taken her position yet and the world is about to end. You people are ridiculous. We were fawked no matter who we voted for. Let's see how it plays out before we all go committing suicide or moving to another province!!

she doesn't have to be in power yet to have affect me, I run a small business corporate tax just went up 20% and I'm sure the booze, smokes, gas taxes Prentice put in are here to stay.

Where do you get 20% from? They claimed 2% and I bet that will be a phased increase.

I one must say that the people are pissed at the PC,s and there mismanagement and all there cronys in high end job fields. I think change could be a good thing we will have to see what the NDP do they sure will have to accountable with the WR as opposition. Albertans wanted change and accountability and they got what they voted for change now lets see what this Party will do change is not always bad. But ya i must say the PC,s got CRUSHED even in Calgary where that was there fortress.

Corporate tax going from current 10% to 12%, we operate currently on a 7-8% net margin so arguably my income just got cut.

I operate a small buisness and whats wrong with paying a bit more tax for the betterment of the province close up some of the loopholes, such as all the shale gas that has to be fracked is exempt from royalties rumor has it.

Going from 10 to 12% is a 20% increase. There was a big "math is hard" discussion during the debate. My take on all this is that it's only 4 years, with that much inexperience they probably won't be able to make a ton of huge changes. It wasn't all young people that voted them in, I'm 22 and every single person I know voted PC/WR. But then again I'm rural, and most of the rural/northern/eastern ridings aren't ndp from the maps I saw. F'in city slickers in Edmonton and Calgary are the ones to blame! Lol

So let's say you are smarter than me and for every 100k in income you put 10k in your jeans after tax.. Well now you put 8k in your jeans, that's a lot more tax not a little.

You're taxed on net income not revenue so a 20% increase (2% absolute increase 10-12%) would actually mean that on your $10k net income you would pay $200 more in tax not $2k more.

Yes for 100k revenue it's $200, for mill revenue, 100k income it's $2000.

I say good on Alberta. I hope we see some change in BC next election. NDP, Green, Conservative, whatever, as long we kick out the bums we keep voting in. I really believe that 4-8 years should be a maximum for any government. Nothing worse than a politician that thinks they can just do whatever the fawk they want. Only way to keep the bastards (at least a tiny little bit) honest is if ya can keep them worried they might not have a job themselves next go around.
