Yup concussion symptoms from the first Michigan race Woody. He and his doctor just made the decision for him to sit the rest of the year to get right. Gordon will race his car in Richmond next week and the Dover and Martinsville races in the Chase and Alex Bowman the rest of them.

Penalties finally announced after Darlington. Here they are. 31 car driver and owner each docked 15 points and crew chief fined $25,000 for P3 penalty in post race inspection. Newman is now in a 22 point deficit to catch Jamie McMurray for the final Chase slot next Saturday night. 42 car driver and owner docked 15 points and crew chief fined $22,500 for failing post race suspension as well. And 21 car driver Ryan Blaney fined $1000 for not wearing gloves in opening practice session at Darlington. He wanted to feel what drivers back in the day did when they didn't wear gloves. Now he knows and his wallet is a grand lighter.

Harvick will have a new tire changer and tire carrier after his very vocal and harsh comments about his pit crew last Sunday in Darlington. The 10 team and the 4 team will swap some peeps around to make Harvick happy again.

The 10 pit crew peeps won't know what to do on Harvicks team, they are used to working on a 25th place car and all no panic as shes not likely to improve unless everyone else crashes!!!

Well it was a wild one last night in the final regular season finale for the Chase at Richmond. Here is how it ended up: 11-42-78-2-4-5-1-41-18-22. That is Hamlins 3rd win of the year.

Newman said some pretty harsh words after the race about his buddy Tony Stewart after Stewart blew his cool and took out Newman when he was running for a Chase spot. Definately worth googling that interview or check it out on Nascar.com

Here is the final Chase Grid and the seeding of those drivers: 2-18-11-4-19-78-20-48-22-42-14-41-34-24-3-1. Congrats to all the drivers especially Chris Buescher who is a Cinderella story for small teams and Chase Elliot getting in as a rookie. First race at Chicagoland next week! Who's everyone picking?

The 78 car failed post race inspection at the laser station. Penalties will be announced mid week but won't affect him for the Chase.

Truex Jr's car was docked 10 points for owner and driver as well as crew chief fined $15000 for failing laser inspection station last week at Richmond. This will not affect his Chase berth.

New penalties clarification for the Chase. Now you will need to have 2 missing lug nuts total on the car to receive a penalty. Failing the laser inspection station could result in an automatic disqualification and a loss of 35 points now. This is a first for Nascar as they have always let cars that fail post race to keep there winnings and trophy but dock them points. This is a big step for them but long over due IMO.
