Best in car audio from the night from Junior. "This race is like the first time I flew an RC plane. I had no idea then what I was doing either." I don't expect we will see this format again next year. Nascar dropped the ball big time this year.

Nascar named its 5 new Nascar Hall of Fame inductee's today. They are Mark Martin, Rick Hendrick, Richard Childress, Benny Parsons and Raymond Parks. Congrats to Mark who never won a championship in Sprint Cup but won in Nascars 3 premiere series 96 times. I had the opportunity to meet Benny Parsons in Phoenix one year before he passed and you won't find a nicer more genuine human being than Benny. He is missed and is well deserving of the induction.

Anybody watching the 100th running of the Indy 500 today? Canadian James Hinchcliffe on the pole after almost dying there last year.

Congrats to Martin Truex Jr. as he went to school on the rest of the field and dominated the race tonight leading 392 of 400 laps. It was the fastest Coke 600 in the history of one of Nascar's crown jewels. He finally finished it off. Here was the top 10: 78-4-48-11-2-41-20-24-22-31

Congrats also to rookie Alexander Rossi winning a fuel mileage race in the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 today. Fitting that Andretti Racing was the winning team for this milestone race.

what do you guys feel about those races that are decided about fuel mileage, I personally don't like it but also understand that its part of racing.

I don't like them either but unless Nascar calls a late competition caution there is nothing they can do about it. Racing should be racing, not seeing who can save the most fuel.

Kind of an interesting stat released by Nascar yesterday on how dominant the Toyota's are this year. Here is the top 10 lap leaders this year through the Coke 600 race: 78-804, 4-688, 18-679, 19-653, 20-398, 48-224, 41-189, 2-129, 11-128, 22-114. Hard to believe a single car operation is the dominant car this year even though they fall under the JGR racing umbrella. Couple breaks and Martin is a 4 time winner this year.

Todays first practice at Pocono is in the books. Here were the fastest 10 cars: 19-4-41-27-18-48-13-22-16-14. With rain in the forecast most of the day this could end up being the starting lineup. Stay tuned.

They squeaked qualifying in today at the tricky triangle between rain showers and Bad Brad got the pole with teammate Joey Logano on the front row beside him. Here's the top ten starting line up: 2-22-20-4-19-14-48-88-41-11.:smilieicon_ford:
