Sounds by Jr's interview post race that he is playing it smart at this point and not ready to take chances. If he can catch Kenseth in the points Nascar Nation will go banana's.:first::common001::bandance:

Knockin down top 5s and 10s will keep ya up in points but i worry about no wins as in last years championship chase.

Kenseth and Jr are safe with or without wins. They are over 2 races ahead of the guys out of the top 10.

He's biding his time. Alot of this is luck to. Who would have thought we would have extended cautions at the end of the race today. If it would have went green all the way after he got fuel he probably wins today.

Nascar news this morning. James Finch is in discussions with Fox to put the Jerry Springer Show on Kurt Buschs car in an upcoming race. Fitting isn't it?:jerry:

........................and rumors have Penske buying into Roush/Yates engines with the move to Ford next year. Penske may sell his 80 strong employees and engine shop to Dodge if they can find teams to race there cars next year and buy into the Ford engine program. Hmmmmmm.....getting crowded over there. I wonder what Robert Yates is thinking right now?

There is a rumor out there that is starting to really gain some steam that Petty Racing will be leaving Ford and going back to Dodge next year. Its expected that they would be the number 1 team for Dodge where they would probably drop to 3rd with Ford with the addition of Penske to Ford next season. An announcement could come as early as this coming weekend.

Lots of cars breaking the track record at Michigan today with average speeds over 200 mph. The new track surface is giving lots of grip and the speeds show it. It looks like it will be a horsepower track this weekend. Who's got the ponies? Ford,Dodge,Chevy or Toyota?

Ford has been tough this year but chevy is alway tough. Toyota and dodge wont even be on the radar this week.

Careful.................................Martin laid down the fastest lap today in the 2 test sessions. HaHa. I think those Toyota's are making some serious numbers.

Holy Cow!!! Final practice is over. Biffle fastest at almost 205mph! 5 Fords in the top 10. 14 cars practiced over 200 mph. Earnhardt and Kenseth are the 2 fastest after a 10 lap average at over 197. Tires aren't lasting 18 laps. How fast will the pole sitter go tomorrow morning???? 208? 209? Should be a great Fathers day race with lots of drama and cautions. Who you guys picking?

Nascars fastest qualifying session of all time is over. Marcus Ambrose has the distinguished honor of been the fastest at over 203 mph! Second was Harvick and third was the Biff. Kahne was the fastest of the Hendrick cars and Carl Edwards had a fuel issue and DNF. Nascar will add another practice after the Nationwide race for the Cup guys as Goodyear is trying a different tire for the left sides as numerous tire issues were found in the previous 4 practices on the newly surfaced track in Michigan. Should be an interesting race tomorrow.
