Nice pics. The folks are going to the Childeress winery and musuem in Welcome NC when they go to Bristol. They went there last year but were too late for any tours so they are trying it again. They claim the RCR musuem is a must for any Nascar fan, so much Earnhardt history it sends chills down your spine. Plus the tour is given by ol Chocolate Myers, Dale's old gas man! Its gonna be neat to see pictures from there.

Yeah, we went to 4 shops in total I think....

Rousch Fenway,Hendricks,Earnhardt/Gannasi and Stewart Haas. Also did a tour around the PIT school and got o see them in action. The thing I remember most about that is how damn hard those one pump jacks are to operate....takes alot of force down. Out tour guide was in the industry for over 40 yrs, so he had a tonne of knowledge and stories. I thin Mcmurray won the race and we ended up run img into him at Earnhardts shop. Great experience!

Just anounced this AM boys, Penske will be running FORD next year. So I guess Ford will have some competitive drivers besides Rousch. Hopefully this isnt the demise o Penske, they have done well with Dodge as of late.

My question is, how much was this decision dependent on what make won the Daytona 500?

Thanks to JPM the safety crews will be suiting up from now on. It just came through today that the people running the Jet Dryers weather it be blowing debris from the track or drying the track they will have to wear a firesuit as well as a helmet.

Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said his guys will be wearing firesuits and helmets and he wants at least a 4 point harness for his guys. Along with looking at Roll bars and the right fire extinguishers in the truck.

Unfortantanlly this had to happen but I guess its all in the name of safety. I remember the days crew members didnt wear helmets on pit road and when they started having to wear them I thought it was stupid but now it looks stupid to go over the wall without a helmet. I even see on TV the days when there was no pit road speed limit. Now it looks Dangerous as hell to fly through pit road at 80 to 100 mph! My point is, its all in the name of safety, even though it looks over board now give it awhile and it will seem normal.

The no speed limit on pit road was dangerous, but then it was truly a race off of pit road. Its not as exciting watching them drive miss daisy out of their box to the pit line now. That and I miss the trucker hats on the over the wall guys

Old man martin is on the pole with stewart 2nd. The biffle could have been on the pole or at least 2nd but socked in in deep in turn 3 and 4.

Who are your picks for sunday boys? I say its gonna be a dirt track racer since the track is really slick. The only other guy that is not a dirt track guy is mark martin otherwise id say kahne. So those are my pics........martin or kahne

Thanks Zeebs! I guess Penske read your post and decided to switch. Penske did comment that his roots were with Ford and he likes where Ford is going especially there motor package.
