Yes NASCAR has been very secretive on tech violations. They list the offence and the sub section in the rule book and that’s what you get. They used to back in the Bill France-Mike Helton eras put the part on display in the garage area for the other teams to view but those days are gone.

A shocker today but maybe not really. In a 1 in a million chance William Byron’s points penalty is recinded most likely because of Rick Hendricks stature in the sport and he is back to the good in the points with the elimination race at the Roval this weekend.

NASCAR has said they are reviewing video and audio tapes from the 41 car after Custers car slowed down unexpectedly causing a pile up on the last lap and allowing Chase Briscoe to pass a number of cars and edge into the playoffs by 2 points. Yeah, watched the race this morning on the PVR, pretty boring race until the final 5 laps then it got good. It was like roller derby there for a few laps, must have been 20 plus cars get punted. The move Tyler Reddick pulled on Chase Elliot was pretty bush league as well.

What Custer did sure looked intentional, and the fact that his teammate gained about 4 positions on the track, then Custer follows him and block cars for about 1/4 of a lap looked down right bad.

Who was it a few years back who caused the big sheatstorm by bringing out an intentional yellow and helping a teammate gain points in the chase? My old man memory tells me it had something to do with Stewart Haas but I wouldnt bet money. Pretty much the same type of situation.

somebody posted a graphic on Twitter from Custers car showing him braking 1.5 seconds earlier for that corner than any other lap and holding his speed lower than any other lap until Briscoe passed him, then he sped up.
