What’s the scoop with this Next Gen car?

Still some testing and small concerns on the docket for the car but it will make its debut in competition for the Clash in February at the LA Coliseum with the Daytona 500 to follow. Its an all new car that was designed to be more like todays renditions on the street however its a kit car where every team will have the exact same car to race and work on and the chassis will be manufactured by a single company for all the teams. This is designed to make costs go down as automobile parts companies can build parts for it which creates competition and lower prices. Some of the key changes are:

- 18" aluminum wheels with a single lug nut like F1
- bigger brakes
- composite body (like Xfinity cars) which have more durability
- exhaust comes out both sides of car instead of RH side
- larger rear spoiler and a new rear diffuser
- sequential 6 speed transmission instead of traditional H pattern 4 speed (5 forward gears and 1 reverse)
- independent rear suspension
- stepped front spoiler with aerodynamic hood vents

Should be exciting to watch as this was designed to make more parity in the Cup garage. This is part of the reason Brad Keselowski is moving to Roush as driver and minority owner. Everyone will start on a level playing field next year.

Wild one in the truck series today. Zane Smith advances to the championship
4 after the 2 leaders crashed out at the start finish line taking the white flag. John Hunter Nemechek squeaked in by 4 points after starting the race plus 37. He was turned into the wall on purpose by a no name after tangling earlier for position. Nemechek is the favorite to win the championship. Last years champion Sheldon Creed missed the cut by 4 points

Crazy crazy crazy race at Martinsville once again today. Multiple late race restarts into overtime with Hemric and Gragson racing for the chance to win their way into the championship 4. Congrats to the 9 car on the win today.
