Bristol night race next week boys!

Next week is last race in the regular season in the Xfinity Series at Bristol. Still tight in the point standings with Dinger leading Cindric by 5 points now so anyones points race. Cindric still has a 5 playoff pt lead in the Chase standings over Dinger but whoever wins the points standings will probably be the number 1 seed for the playoffs .

Been a long time since I followed any form of car racing. I used to enjoy both F1 and NASCAR. I skimmed over this thread and hardly recognize names or even the series?

Give me the Cliff notes version of what’s happening, what the series are called and the differences between them? I feel like a newbie again…. Toyota…?!!! Where’s the Honda power????? And what happened with Dodge/Chrysler ?

Nascar has 3 major racing series, The Cup series which used to be the Winston Cup series and is still the premier series, The Xfinity series which used to be the Busch series and is kind of the Junior A series to Cup and the Truck series which like the other 2 series has had a number of sponsor names over the years. Dodge left in 2013 I believe after Brad Keselowski won the championship for Penske Racing in 2012. Toyota came in with Michael Waltrip and Bill Davis fielding the first 2 Toyota teams in the Cup series in 2007. They had come in to the Truck Series in 2004 and started there. Honda and Nissan have long been rumored to join the Cup series but have not made it happen up to now. Dodge doesn't look like they will reappear as Daimler doesn't have the interest it is said. Dodge left because of the financial issues that beset them back in 2010-12. Hope that helps!

2 new race tracks on the Cup circuit for next year! The season will start with the Busch clash in the LA Coliseum! That will be very cool to watch. The other race moves to St. Louis for the World Wide Technology Raceway. I see Pocono lost a race but haven't figured out the other deletion yet. Good news for us regular travellers to Phoenix for the fall race. This will be the 3rd year in a row that Phoenix will host the Championship weekend!

Final regular season race of the year in the Xfinity Series tonight at Bristol. 15 points up for grabs for the overall points leader between the Dinger and Cindric. Should be exciting! Gragson on the pole

Harvick and Elliott had some words after the race. Elliott was blocking so Harvick rubbed him and Elliott got a flat and held up Harvick and Larson ended up getting the win.
