Really great race. Probably the best race facility I’ve been to. It’s really a great feature when you can bring your own cooler full of alcohol to the race.
It was chilly in Texas, not sure how that affected the cars compared to the practice. Was great to see Jimmy and Kyle not win. Looked like after Kyle went high on corner 2, he had pit issues as well. Darn...

NASCAR doesn’t announce attendance anymore but stands were pretty empty. I think they try and over think the sport with all the changes this year. Crowds are down. Next weeks race at Bristol will be telling as people leave seasons tickets in their wills. Almost impossible to get a seat at Bristol.

Qualifying came under fire again this weekend as drivers waited in each segment for guinea pigs to go first so the PJ1 traction compound on the track could be heated up for the sports biggest stars. Ryan Blaney set a track record in round 2 but his buddy Chase Elliott was the fastest in the final round and sits on the pole for Sundays race. Well one of the biggest stars on the track in past years and the announcing booth today has announced his retirement from the FOX broadcasting team after FOX's season ends here at the halfway point of the season. Darrell Waltrip is stepping down from the sport to concentrate on his grandkids. No more boogity, boogity, boogity anymore.

Very entertaining race today at Bristol. A late race caution mixed everything up as the Penske cars were the class of the field today and Kyle Busch and Clint Bowyer were the only ones that could hang with them today.
